The road to the resort is in poor condition, The Chalets is clean but needs a lot of maintenance, bathrooms needs an upgrade, taps at zink was loose, aircon not working properly

Must have been an excellent resort, neglect is visible every where. Stock very poor in the shop and the restaurant. Still we had an wonderful visit to Pilansberg.

The Camp site is a little run down. Electric points broken in the camping site. Ablution blocks don't have running water in wash basins. Some showers blocked and tiling broken and in poor condition. Maintenance seems to be low budget. The camp area is still however neat and quiet and the pool looking good.

Good location, pool was also great BUT chalets are too old and need a serious refurbishment, bathroom were smelling very bad and lot of fungus on the wall and ceiling. This is not acceptable, we could not bath babies in there. We also did not feed welcome well by the staff at arrival, no smile, no kindness.

Only 1 plate of 2 worked on the stove. Dials were faded so had to fiddle till plate got hot. Aircon leaked inside the chalet, causing damage to the cupboards, kitchen tap was almost falling off the sink, fridge didn't work, but was replaced quickly. Curtain fell off the rail. Swimming pool not very clean. Overall the place was clean.

If it wasnt fornthe fact that it was situated at the gate of Pulanesberg, i will not go to this place. Problem is rhat money spent needs returns and here are none except nature

We held a family weekend get together at Bakgatla Resort for the weekend and rented several chalets. What a great experience. Chalets were well maintained, clean and great value for rates charged. A special word of thanks to the exceptional reception staff, who were very welcoming. Will definitely go back.

Worst stay ever. No water in units. Had to fill up toilet with a bucket to flush. No working airconditioning. Units ate run down and not maintained. All the taps at the basins are loose and difficult to open and close. Pool is green and we could not even swim. Staff could not resolve water issue or give clear answers or indication on water availability.

Just a heads up to anyone thinking of camping at Bakgatla in Pilansberg....we were there for the 1st time in many years. Apart from the fact that there has been no maintenance done and is in a poor state, we were broken into and robbed along with 4 other sites that we know of. And not just once but 2 nights in a row. They went into our neighbors tent and stole her cellphone from behind her bed while they were sleeping, took her bags out and went through them, stole money, a letherman, etc. They were mainly looking for cellphones, money and expensive jackets etc. After alerting management and security and requesting frequent patrols after this frightening experience, they broke in again the next night. Totally unacceptable to feel so violated and unsafe whilst paying to relax in a supposedly secure environment. Will definitely (sadly because we enjoy Pilansberg) never go back.
