Good location, acceptable environment

The location is near the Xihai Grassland. We arrived at 6:30 in the evening. We called the boss to pick us up. The boss kept saying that he would be there soon. We waited for more than an hour in the strong wind before someone came to pick us up. We walked a long way, but when we arrived, we found that it was not a yurt operated in compliance with regulations, but a house owned by the local horse people. It was very cold at night, and burning charcoal did not work at all. The most important thing was that at one or two o'clock in the middle of the night, the local construction workers outside were talking, walking, driving, and making all kinds of noises! It was impossible to sleep!

When staying here, you don't need to ask for good facilities. Just treat it as an experience. It's OK to just deal with it for one night.

The room is a yurt, but it is not a family homestay owned by local herdsmen. It is opened by outsiders. The overall experience can only be regarded as staying for one night on the grassland close to the lake area. After arriving at the lake area, the navigation cannot reach the destination and you can only contact the merchant to pick you up at the designated location. It is about six kilometers away from the main road of the lake area with many twists and turns. It is not recommended to book if you drive in a car. In addition, it is recommended that you prepare some food for yourself when staying here, as there is no other food here except mutton. You don't have to expect too much in terms of service and hygiene. The main focus is on getting close to nature. It's great to watch the sunset and sunrise when the weather is nice.

Don't stay in this kind of local tents. They are dirty, messy, cold, and expensive. A plate of rice without any meat costs 80 yuan. The accommodation in Sailimu Lake is the most unbelievable place in this trip. There is no hot water, not even cold water! The grass is in the tent, and there is not even a mat or blanket! ! The wind is about to blow the tent over. This is a nightmare!

We entered the scenic spot at 9pm. It was cloudy☁️. We bought tickets at the gate and drove in. We walked and played until 10:30. We knew it was hard to find after reading the reviews. We called the boss in advance and added WeChat to send the location. It was about 2 kilometers from the main road. The gravel road was flat but not easy to drive. The grass on the side was even flatter. It got dark early because of the rain. We were completely confused and couldn’t find it at all. We called the boss to drive to pick us up. It seemed very close during the day the next day 😅 The boss lady could still grill us meat after 11 o'clock. We deliberately saved our stomach in the afternoon to eat some authentic herdsmen's food. There is a menu and you can stir-fry vegetarian dishes. The specialty is their own lamb. We ordered lamb chops, lamb liver, hand-pulled rice, large meat skewers for 10 yuan, lamb chops for 160/1 kg. We were weighed for us. The herdsmen are still very simple. The taste is really authentic. I, a person from Inner Mongolia, think it is delicious. You can't get it at this price outside. The boss should be a Muslim who doesn't keep alcohol at home. He bought alcohol for us in the middle of the night. Although he is not good at speaking, he is a very good person. Light the stove at night and the yurt is not cold The bedding is thick enough, no smell, and not damp. In the early morning, accompanied by the sound of cattle and sheep on the grassland, roasting the stove in the yurt, eating pure lamb and drinking some wine in the rainy night, it feels so wonderful... The boss prepared hot water for simple washing. It is 13 degrees at night here, so there is no need to take a shower. The toilet is back to nature. It was still drizzling when I got up early. The stove went out. It was a bit cold when I opened the door. It is recommended to wear more. I didn’t feel cold when I slept. This place is about 2 kilometers away from the lakeside branch line. In addition, the air is very humid due to the drizzle. The air in the morning is mixed with the smell of grass, soil and cow dung. Haha, we feel very enjoyable. Experience the original ecological life of herdsmen.
