"This was the last day of our trip, but we lost a sun protection jacket here. We emailed the hotel, but received no response. We called them, but they said their English was poor and we couldn't understand. We asked them to return the jacket through Ctrip, but they absolutely didn't have it. We're giving them a bad review!!! We won't accept any rebuttal!"

"We have stayed at the Novotel Bourges many times over the years, usually as an overnight stop when travelling through France, and our experiences have sometimes been a little hit or miss. On this occasion, however, our stay on the journey South was a good one. The hotel was extremely busy, particularly on the Friday evening, but there was still a nice atmosphere about the place. The bar was very busy but was well staffed and service remained friendly and efficient despite the number of guests. Our rooms were spotless, well appointed and clearly modernised to a good standard. We had a comfortable night's sleep and everything in the rooms was as it should be. Breakfast the following morning was equally busy, but the buffet was well stocked and very well managed. Staff were constantly replenishing items and keeping everything moving, which was impressive given how busy the hotel was. The one significant downside was the parking. There was absolutely nowhere available in the hotel car park when we arrived and we eventually had to park on a grass verge, which wasn't ideal. There also appeared to be a number of vehicles in the car park that looked as though they may have been there for some considerable time. For a hotel that attracts so many guests travelling by car, the parking situation could certainly do with being looked at. Overall though, a good stay on this occasion. The hotel was busy but well run, the rooms were excellent and the staff remained friendly and welcoming throughout."

"The room was far too small for a family of four. Breakfast was incredibly crowded; it was impossible to find a seat as all the tables were taken. Guests felt pressured to move quickly to free up their places. We ate under the constant pressure of those waiting. The selection was very limited. The spread was stale and didn't come from the container. The bread was bad. We had booked for both our outbound and return flights, so we cancelled the return flight and booked a room at the Ibis Styles next door. It was like night and day."

"A strange smell upon entering the room. No electrical outlets at the headboard. No courtesy tray with a kettle, coffee, or tea. In the bathroom, the cups aren't vacuum-sealed. The bathtub drains poorly, and a strange smell occurs when the water runs. The same smell as upon entering the room. No air conditioning, but a fan sits on the desk. The doorbell doesn't work. As a result, the door stays open if you don't close it. Breakfast-wise, for almost €10, you'd expect better. No omelet or grilled ham. It's really basic. This is still a decent hotel for the price, but it deserves a refresh and some maintenance."

"Novotel is a Novotel. However the steel fence around it, covered in green plastic hides on the ground what you can see from the 4th floor! A seemingly old block of a hotel full of immigrants or refugees, causing hell, fighting sleeping on bench’s uncontrolled. Hotel is very hot too, room 435 has less air-conditioning than a car 30 years ago. So open the window and listen to the refugee camp fighting of a chair etc. Not the best. Breakfast ok, pull out beds are singles so each child gets a bed rather then rolling into each other. However not to be repeated."

"Hotel was fine for a stopover. We had a quadruple room as was a family of four. Air conditioning was nice during the heatwave but sadly our children were hot upstairs sleeping on the mezzanine level as the air con didn’t reach up there. There was a small fan however, Bedding and bathroom clean. Parking outside was a plus. All in all, perfect for a night’s stopover,"
