Jasmine Guest House

Great staff breakfast was ok but rooms really need a good clean i put the ceiling fan on and dust went everywhere and black moukd in bathroom just needs a good clean

Stayed for 4 nights for the Bridlington Soul Weekender with a friend in a twin room which was up 2 flights of stairs with no lift. Another friend had our room key for us as we were delayed on the motorway and the owner wanted to go to the pub?! On first inspection, the room looked ok if a little dated and there were no pillow protectors on the stained pillows so I put the 2 pillows together and double cased them using the 2 pillow cases. Our first encounter with the owner was breakfast the following morning which our friend told us was from 8-8.30am?! We went down and we received no welcome from him at all. He appeared annoyed and when we questioned him about the breakfast times he said "All guest houses in Bridlington have the same breakfast times" (A lie as we asked friends staying in other guest houses during the event) We then asked what the breakfast times were over the weekend, to be told the same times. We pointed out that breakfast times over the weekend were usually extended to 10 or even 10.30am and he actually started arguing with us, saying he had things to do and couldn't hang around in the mornings making breakfast, I pointed out he owned a guest house, wasn't looking after his guests what he should be doing?! After walking off, he eventually told our friend he would extend it to 9am over the weekend, a whole half hour! The full English we ordered was very disappointing, my fried egg's yolk was hard, the bacon looked a strange colour and had a very strange smell so I left that, the sausage was like mush when I cut into it and had no taste whatsoever and the toast was the thinnest white bread I had ever seen. He is obviously using the cheapest products available. My friend asked where the cereals where to be told "In the kitchen" There were no yogurts or fresh fruit. She said the cornflakes definitely weren't Kellogg's. Whilst in our room, I did a closer inspection and found the bathroom to be dirty, it looked like it hadn't had a deep clean in years. I checked the duvet on my bed to find the duvet cover only had 2 buttons on it and the actual duvet was dirty and stained with what I hoped was food. I went down to ask if I could have another key to the door and room. Firstly, I had to hunt for the owner and eventually ring the bell outside what I assume are his rooms. He didn't appear happy at all and grumbled that he didn't have another set. He eventually came back with 1 key to the outside door and said that's all he had, despite me saying I needed one for the room too in case either my friend or myself wanted to come back from the venue early. Because of this, my friend and I had to swap keys if one of us wanted to come back early then stay awake to let them into the room, we didn't want to go to sleep with the door unlocked?! The only saving grace of this guest house is John who works there, he's lovely and appears to have to do all of the cleaning and room changes by himself. Staff were very good close to beach and town center

I booked it on line looked nice. Once we got there .carpets had a stain .paint looked luke it was chipped of. Single beds i wanted a double bed.beds not appearing to be safe.we paid a deposit 85 pounds.we didnt even stay there.the landlird of jasmine didnt offer us a deposit back.

Good location, superb host

Amazing as always. Clean, comfortable and nice owners would stay there everytime.
