The George at Backwell

Amazing pub with rooms .We stayed overnight as flying from Bristol . We ate in Restaurant , food was really good well presented .Adam & Oliver were excellent members of staff .Keeping everyone happy even when , the bar & restaurant were extremely busy . Oliver showed us to our room explaining how everything worked . Our room was super clean and comfortable .Lovely hospitality tray and wonderful homemade cookies. We definitely will be back .

Food was really good. Comfy bed and pillows nice treat of cookies delivered to room. Was woken by fire alarm at 4:45am and neither of landlords really knew what to do and didn’t communicate what was happening leaving residents out in the cold. Other than that a good stay.

Highly recommended Beautiful building very clean and cosy. Check in was stress free and the guys who checked us in were friendly and efficient. The only down side was that service was a little slow in the evening in the restaurant. We had to ask for dessert menu and bill.

I made a last minute booking at the George as I was attending an event in Bristol. I thought it was a lovely place to stay, an unexpected find. Upon arrival, there was plenty of parking and a warm greeting. I was given two delicious cookies as welcome gift. The room had the usual hotel room paraphernalia, but all high quality. I appreciated the Brew Tea bags, the fresh milk provided, and nice toiletries. The room was clean and quiet. I went for a room with a shower rather than a bath - the bathroom was compact but fine to use and the shower was great. The bed was comfortable with very comfy pillows. The breakfast was slightly minimalistic but all the components were good. Great drip coffee. I felt everything was well executed and I'd have no hesitation staying here again.

Spot on. Very clean, comfortable and welcoming Very handy and comfortable /clean overnight stay before early morning flight at Bristol Airport. Very easy 15 mins to Airport at 4am. Great check out at that time and even had a continental breakfast available. Well thought out. Highly recommend! Also we had good food in the evening and helpful and friendly staff. Lovely Somerset pub. Easy, clean, comfortable and welcoming. Will return!
