Broken River Mountain Resort

Nice stay, saw platypus and plenty of turtles and got woken up by all number of different wildlife sounds. Cabin was nice, had everything you need, was dated, but that added to the charm! In middle of nowhere so WiFi was unreliable and TV had no signal, not sure if that was just us or allover?. Had nice meal in restaurant, although choice is understandably restricted.

The place is beautiful, with the massive bonus of seeing Platypus in the wild (which we did). The actual site was well maintained and the small pool area looked clean and was fenced in, thus safe with wandering youngsters. The staff at reception were very helpful, polite and informative. Unfortunately the cabin I stayed in was very tired and in my opinion, in need of a complete refurbish, it wasn’t very nice at all. It wasn’t dirty, just worn out. I must point out that the bedding was spotless and the bed comfy. I’d love to stay here again for a few days, as the area is stunning and the wildlife is incredible, I’d only do so if the cabins are refreshed.

Nestled amidst the rainforest of Eungella National Park, the Broken River Mountain Resort is a tranquil and serene retreat surrounded by nature. The garden of the resort is beautiful, and the accommodations are cozy, providing everything you need for a comfortable stay. While the cleanliness was satisfactory, I had some issues with how credit card payments via third-party booking sites were handled. However, these issues were resolved after discussing them with the resort staff. During my stay, I enjoyed the view from the Sky Window, embarked on a 16 km hike through the rainforest, and had the delightful experience of seeing platypuses swimming in the river. It was a wonderful getaway that offered a chance to relax and reflect on life.
