Residence Inn Milwaukee Brookfield at Poplar Creek

What a gorgeous new hotel! Parking was easy and close in the garage under the hotel. Hoping they get the kinks worked out with their staff because that was our only complaint. Room was clean and beautiful, but had no shower mat/towel for the floor, two tissues in the kleenex box, and no bedding for the pull-out couch. We called for the bedding after coming home at night and ready to go to bed, and after 40 minutes still nothing. My husband went to get it and they said someone would be bringing it but she was on break. It finally did come but hard to wait since we were exhausted and our daughter was ready to sleep. Also, breakfast/coffee doesn’t start til 7am for us early risers, and then the barista had called off when we tried to get a Starbucks. Went in for breakfast at 9 and was told by staff walking by, “this is all there is, so once it runs out that’s it” as a big group of people is walking in. So breakfast food ran out, and the coffee was empty too. Just a frustrating experience.

This was my second stay at the Residence Inn (RI). First off, the property is brand new and well designed. The rooms are comfortable and clean for the most part. The cleanliness of the dishes and silverware provided left much to be desired. Sure, I would always clean them before using regardless but the presentation of dirty items is unacceptable. On my first visit, breakfast quality and service was great. However, this past weekend, it was a complete disaster. There was absolutely no food left at around 9AM on both Saturday and Sunday, and the staff couldn’t have been any more rude. There was a complete 180 come Monday AM as food was available and staff service improved. I really would suggest that the staff also check that the guest dining are indeed staying at the RI and not friends/family staying at the attached Courtyard. I suspect this was a problem this past weekend. Since this is a new property, I know they’re still in the ramping up period and am confident that management will eventually have daily ops smoothed out.

This hotel has by far been the best I’ve ever stayed in. I felt like I was receiving $1000 treatment for a $400 hotel. I will never stay in another hotel when I come to this area, only this one. Super clean, breakfast was incredible, and the entire building is very beautiful and impressive. Staff was extremely helpful and kind.

A great modern hotel! Comfortable suite, comfortable beds and comfortable couch. There is plenty of space and tons of outlets. A great shower and a very efficient mini kitchen. Nice big TV’s and a great little coffee maker. I gave this 4 stars for 2 reasons. 1 . no recycling bins in the rooms or anywhere in the hotel and 2. ( my main complaint) the furnace that produces warm and cool air for the room, is way too loud. I was woken up several times by how noisy the thing is. I can tell it’s efficient and high tech, just too damn noisy. May chane to 3 stars
