The Plantation Gambia

What a super place had everything you needed clean quaint rooms comfy sunbeds outside our room. Great food cooked by Nicky poached eggs perfect each morning. Rooms very clean, cleaned by a super lad full of smiles, I am so sorry I have forgotten his name. Went too the local beach and had a drink at the beach bar fantastic afternoon. Nicky and Neil the owners could not do enough for us THANKYOU both so much xx

If you want 5* service and food, hot sun and a dose of tranquility on steroids this is the place to be! From the moment we were picked up from Banjul airport in Nikki and Neils open top 1964 land-rover we have been treated like VIPs. Absolutely nothing is too much trouble for them. The food is to die for. All home cooked and honestly better than any hotel we have ever stayed in. There are just 12 double en suite rooms - all set as semi detached ground level with own verandahs, around a pool. This is separated from the bar/food area by lush planting - which extends creating a shaded canopy under which to eat. We haven’t left yet and are already planning to return!

What a wonderful little hidden beauty. After arriving in Gambia with nowhere to stay due to planes being delayed for our host we were recommended to stay here with Nikki and Neil, our plane was late so we arrived later then expected, nothing was to much trouble for Nikki, she instantly made us feel at home and relaxed. This was supposed to be a one night stay but later in the week when we needed alternative arrangements Nikki welcomed us back and took care of us. She loved us and supported us as if we were family. The place is Beutiful, the pool and rooms were spotlessly clean and the food was amazing. An honesty fridge is in place so you can help yourself to drinks. Every thing you need is provided including towels for the beach and inside towels for the bedrooms. The food was incredible, you simply must try Nikki’s Tapas picnic style lunch. We came as guests and left as friends, we also made other friends whilst staying there. Would 1 million per cent recommend to anyone wanting to visit.

Welcome to the fabulous Folly Plantation with hilarious hosts Nikki and Neil. Away from the hustle and bustle but close enough to the beach and the *****. The charming en suite rooms are beautifully decorated and well equipped. Every room has allocated sunbeds and plenty of towels for the pool that is right outside. Nikki has a plethora of available accompanied excursions, always a well stocked cool box onboard and will tailor trips to her guests needs. A must do is the Gambia experience that visits local villages and beaches. Breakfast is a self service buffet of breads, fruit, eggs and lots of daily surprise items but all fresh and delicious. I'd recommend half board as the dinners served up in my 2 week stay were superb, all dietary requirements are catered for too. The cats and dogs are an absolute delight (take Dreamies) well behaved and their antics are guaranteed to raise a smile. I can't wait to go back next year just to relax, enjoy the peace and have the warmth of the hosts as well as the sun. Absolutely perfect.
