Drummond Cove Holiday Park

Have stayed at this caravan park quite a few time now This stay was average the cabins are outdated which I was aware of. The cabin we stayed in was number 36 Ideal for large family's The cabin itself was okay Negatives No exhaust fan in bathroom Tv outdated Remote needed new batteries No wifi access to cabin The extra blankets smelt terrible, unusable No extra bin liners No extra towels even though booked as a family Bird poop on outside verandah not clean Shower head useless as was adjusting the temperature Toliet in shower room so was hard to be able to use toliet with big family staying there. Our kids were also told to be quiet at 3pm in the afternoon by a another camper resident kids are meant to be outside playing ? No washing machine in cabin Bbq were great but left dirty No playground facilities Postives The staff that was on 12.0.24 was very helpful The rooms were more than enough for a large family Close to the beach 10 min walk at that. Carport big enough for both cars

Stayed 4 nights in our caravan at a powered site. Pool and Ablution block only a short walk. Holiday Park is at the top of the escarpment so the view over the ocean is amazing. It faces west so you get to enjoy the sunsets too. (-) Would welcome a level pad for the caravan. Children’s playground small and old, needs updating. (+) Sunset view is spectacular. The swimming pool is crystal clear.

Specifically booked this place as it had a pool for great for the school holidays. However the pool was not available for use due to maintenance. I was not advised of this before we arrived as I could have made alternative arrangements. Walked in and noticed cockroaches on the kitchen bench, opened the cupboard under the kitchen sink and cockroach ran out from there. I advised the staff and was given insect spray to use. Mouse droppings on kitchen floor living area. Night time there was more little cockroaches crawling on the kitchen bench, stove area, they were coming out from a hole in the wall behind the kitchen sink. Towels that were supplied were very thin. Shower head in the shower was very rusty and did not look safe. Was very disappointed with this place as I paid $170 for this stay.

The good stuff..... Great location, overlooking the ocean. Helpful reception arrangements for our late arrival Not so good..... Very outdated, needs maintenance and some modernisation. Evidence of water leaking/stains into ceiling space, rusty shower fitting, old laminex benchtops loosing laminex, shower extraction fan must have been replaced - square for round, so some gaps in the wall surrounding it. Worst of all was by nightfall we experienced an infestation of small cockroaches. When I mentioned this on checkout, to her credit, the lady seemed unaware of any issue and said it would be addressed. Here's hoping.... Would not recommend a stay here unless there is money spent to upgrade it. Definitely not worth $150 per night.

My extended family booked multiple chalets and sites in this park over new years as this was a perfect location out of the main Geraldton town centre but still close enough for a quick drive in to everything. The chalets are all dated but clean. I read that the park is for sale so I can understand why the owners aren't spending money on upgrades but hopefully it lands in good hands because the potential here is phenomenal with this location and the setting. Our one bedroom Chalet number 4 was well equipped with all the things we needed to enjoy a 3 night stay. All kitchen utensils and cooking equipment was catered for, there was a good size tv and couch, the kitchen window and front door/porch has a magnificent beach view, the bedroom had sufficient space for 2 but the bed was quite dated so not the most comfortable Ive ever slept on but also by no means the worst. All bedding was clean and fresh. The bathroom has space for your toiletries and was clean. This is not 5 star vacationing, but I felt quite comfortable with the facilities and level of cleanliness. The park is spacious and had some lovely little features with quaint garden art features, kids swings, very clean and beautiful pool area, spacious aviary with gorgeous birds, and a little shop in the reception that had a good range of emergency supplies for when you can't be bothered running into town. I bought a heap of beautiful products from Drummond Cove Olive Farm in reception, highly recommend you try those olive oils, pickles, dukkas, and olives. The owners were so fantastic at accommodating the complex bookings from our whole family over many months, some last minute as eastern states relatives also decided to attend. They were always friendly, helpful, and patient. There were a couple of nights where we had parties for new years and to celebrate family coming together and the owners never got angry (we did keep in mind other guests and tried to be respectful). It was a wonderful, memorable stay and I'd like to thank the staff of Drummond Cove Caravan Park for their lovely hospitality. The cat in reception was an added bonus, we were missing our felines back home. Hopefully if a sale goes through the new owners are as lovely and will be able to do some chalet upgrades. What did I love? The layout - chalets are a good distance from each other, not wall to wall like some parks. I love the views of the ocean, and the gardens, aviary, and pool. What would I change? The walk to the beach is rather long, it would be fantastic if there was a proper path and a road with carpark at the beachfront. Chalet upgrades would be wonderful, understanding that it would be costly and would probably increase charges making the park not as good value as current costs. My uncle was in single room chalet 5 and this one didn't have as good a window for the ocean view as number 4, but it had an oven which 5 didn't, so the chalets are all a bit different to each other. The powered sites are large and easily accessible but not very level. Ablutions were very clean with plenty of hot water, do need some maintenance on the door catches though. Managers were pleasant and helpful. Need a key for the dump point, which is a pain, but this is only a minor inconvenience. Recommend this park and rates during peak period are really good.
