Posada El Azufral

The area is wonderful and the mountains spectacular. Potes is a lovely town nearby, and the walks are steep but rewarding. The room was very comfortable although I had booked a suite and didn't feel it was a suite just because it had two armchairs in it. The breakfasts were very, very good with cake and Yolandas special marbled eggs! However, the check in was quite difficult as we had missed the email asking us to do it online { we had left UK already and were driving down to N Spain}. This made for a surprisingly uncomfortable welcome. I had to ask for the password and got a frosty response as she said she had already given it to me. The password should be clearly found in the rooms as standard, its just easier.

A beautiful place very close to Potes and all the surroundings of Liebana. Our room was comfortable with a nice terrace. The omelette/eggs breakfast was a high point for us, so fresh! During our stay in peak days of August, the Posada was very busy and at times the staff seemed under stress, there some delays and confusion about check-in which took a long time to resolve, but no matter. We had fun and enjoyed our stay regardless of all Yolanda's the little jokes!
