Apartamentos Cala d'Or Playa

The rooms were clean and every two days cleaned well. Good for self catering which is what we did. The rest of the hotel… 1. Pool area dangerous and slippery- this is not normal and health and safety issue that you can’t walk safely. Multiple signs about slip risk, just please change the tiles rather than stop yourself getting sued by lots of ‘slippery when wet’ signs. 2. Pissed up people above us, outside our corridors at midnight, 3. No sun beds, I had to beg for one as can’t sit on the grass area st the back of pool due to back issues- it was the only area with space. Don’t build a hotel without enough room for your guests to sit out by the pool and stop saying to everyone on trip advisor ‘we take your comments on board’ take less guests and have enough sunbeds, simple. 4. Saw genuine cringe worthy behaviour between brits and Germans over sunbeds. Embarrassing. 5. Pool milky and not clean 6. Beaches amazing but go to other hotels with nice pools like inrutel they don’t charge. Won’t come back here. Shame could be nice

Just got back from a great week at Cala D'or Playa. The hotel has a great location only a few minutes walk to the beach and multiple restaurants. The staff at the hotel are great. Special mention to Jose at the pool bar. Always smiling and happy to have a joke with you. The entertainment was mixed with acrobats, singers and magicians. Would be nice if went on a little longer. The animation team are great with kids during day and our kids were sad to say goodbye. Although they were lucky enough to bump into Charles outside the hotel to say goodbye. He was brilliant and took time to stop and chat with them before we left. We only sampled the breakfast once and the pool snack bar a few times but had no complaints. The rooms are more than adequate and are kept clean by the hard working cleaners. The pool area is nice and we did manage to get sunbeds (they do get reserved). However it is slippy so beware. We seen a few children slip and require treatment. My wife also slipped onto her back luckily only hurting her pride. A solution is needed for these slippy tiles before someone gets really hurt. Other than this a really pleasant enjoyable stay in a lovely resort with plenty to do for everyone.

Very clean Breakfast was excellent Friendly staff Pool temp was great Nice 10min walk into town My 6yr old enjoyed the slides and play area Two beaches not too far away, you can also pick up the land train from the back of the hotel Only negative is the sun loungers were quite close together and did get busy at times. But we always got beds.

This is our second visit here and on both occasions we have had a fabulous time. The hotel is great and the local beaches are lovley. This year we have been amazed by the brilliant kids entertainers! A special mention to Charles, Karolina, Katja and Alex for being so energetic and kind to our kids! Our 5-7 year old followed you around for the last few days in awe. Grace especially :) We had breakfast everyday in the hotel which was great and enjoy the pool and Cala Gran and Esmerelda beaches! We would 100% recommend this as an option for a family we young children. I would be cautious about reading any other negative reviews as you always have several people moanimg about the slightest thing. Some people were not happy with the lifeguard trying to be consistent in applying the rules of inflateables in the pool and on the slides however we had no problems with this and fully understood the rationale behind this. The lifeguards were professional and are only trying to do their jobs. Again, similar with sunbeds. We had no issues and understood the lifeguard placing signs on beds to stop people reserving them over night! In summary, it is a great hotel and fantastic staff. In is located in an ideal spot. First time staying with my family in Cala D’or, found the hotel very clean and spacious for a family of 4. Great location, great animation team throughout the day which my son and daughter thoroughly enjoyed especially the football and the treasure hunt! The pool activities where great for the children as it broke up the day and the slides where a massive hit for our family. Pool bar very expensive bought two drinks one day and didn’t buy anymore. Ice lollies extremely expensive in comparison to other hotels but didn’t stop me from buying my children them as we are on holiday after all. Ate once at the pool bar and found it lovely, good portion sizes too. Night time entertainment was poor unfortunately twice we tried two different shows and both times my children commented on how poor it was however In general we had a great week and I’m considering booking again for next year but I am looking forward to hopefully the mentioned areas being improved as it seems to be a theme within reviews. Big shoutout to Charles and Carolina my children adored you both. (Oscar and Emilie)

We had a lovely 12 day stay here. The hotel is great, very clean and rooms are spacious. We booked a pool view room and had one on the second floor which was great. Lovely big balcony that we enjoyed eating breakfast on each morning. My older children (10 and 8) loved having the water slides to play on and enjoyed having a go on the inflatable platform thingy on the days it came out. My son and husband also joined in with water polo and had a great time. Sun beds were being reserved early so if you wanted front row or directly under one of the large parasols these were going some time between 7-8am. Other sun beds were still available at 9am though. The pool doesn’t open until 10am and there were a couple of days all the sun beds were gone when we came down at this time. We just used the tables and chairs at the end of the main pool which are in the shade too. Lots of people had parasols which had been bought from one of the local shops, we were given one by a family who were leaving on our first day and left it when we came home. There is a collection of things that have been left (parasols and pool toys) in the black storage box against the fence behind the stage so check there first before buying anything. I also saw parasols and a few other bits left on the benches by the lifts so keep an eye out at these spots when you arrive. We had a hire car and was always able to park it in the hotel car park, in fact there was at least 4 other empty spaces so plenty of room. I also did a couple of loads of washing while there. There is only 1 washer and 1 dryer but it was available when I went down in the morning to use it. No need to bring your own washing tabs, the machine includes detergent and costs €4 for a wash. We’ve been to Cala d’Or before but it was our first time to this hotel. We enjoyed our stay, thought the animation team were brilliant. We saw the evening entertainment twice while we were there, one show was good the other was a bit of a car crash! There’s so much to do in the evenings that this didn’t bother us at all.
