Gavimar Ariel Chico Hotel and Apartments

We stayed at Gavimar Chico for my sons first holiday (he’s 1) and was fantastic from start to finish. The hotel was really clean, the staff were so friendly, and the whole place just felt really welcoming. The entertainment team were brilliant – José, David and Robin were amazing and made such a fuss of the kids, which made it feel extra special for us, my son really enjoyed this and the mini disco for the kids. Great location too, close to the beach and shops. Couldn’t have asked for a better first holiday for my son, we’ll definitely be back!

Average, needs upgrades, pool times crazy. Food average but good selection. Staff friendly. Not great value in my book

La habitacion nos la entregaron sucia , en una de las piscinas las hamacas las reservaban los huéspedes desde la noche anterior con toallas y la otra las hamacas eran pocas para las personas hospedados, la variedad en la comida estaba bien, lo mejor, sin duda, fue la animación del hotel, Claudia, Alex, David, Robin y José nos hicieron pasar unos momentos muy entretenidos tanto en las actividades en la piscina, como en las actuaciones nocturnos, lo más destacado del hotel.

El tamaño del apartamento estaba bien, pero le hacía falta alguna renovación, la limpieza era inexistente ( lo peor sin duda del hotel) , la comida del buffet era correcta, a mí parecer harían falta más tumbonas en la zona de la piscina, ya que la gente hacía cola para poder coger una antes que abrieran la piscina. Lo único realmente notable es el equipo de animación, Robin, David, José, Alex y Claudia, se esfuerzan por hacer su trabajo lo mejor y más ameno posible, si volvería a ese hotel sería por ellos.

HONEST REVIEW: Cala D'or is absolutely beautiful. The beaches, architecture and scenery are lovely. However, please stay in another hotel. Positives of the Hotel - The distance to the beach is brilliant The garden at the rear is pretty and if you're lucky enough to get a larger room where the patio doors lead onto it you may have a better experience. The games facilities were good. eg table tennis, air hockey, volleyball and mini golf. Negatives of the Hotel - I emailed the hotel 11 months previously to ask if we could have a room which is not looking onto the road due to my son's asthma. Unfortunately, we had a room facing the noisy road. They were unable to move us when I asked on day of arrival as they said hotel fully booked. They didn't care. The size of the room was completely unacceptable for a family of 4. We were like sardines all week. This should not be an option, especially for the amount of money we paid for the room. The beds were so uncomfortable and sheets not changed all week. Also don't expect to get much sleep as the noise in the evenings until 5 am is beyond. We are not fussy people, but I really felt it was important to write a review as the standard, size and cleanliness of the room was not good enough. I truly hope they change their standards. Thankfully the beach was gorgeous so we spent the majority of our holiday there and exploring beautiful Cala d'or. The pool was too small for the amount of guests in the hotel.

4 days since being back from ariel chico. This is my honest opinion of the 3star hotel. Was late arriving due to a delayed flight. Check in. werent to long winded but I must say the lady who started to check us in was not welcoming at all. A man took over as she started and he was a bit more friendlier. Tried to have a bit of banter with them asking if we had got a decent size or nice room as we were 3 adults and a 15 year old sharing a room. He said all the rooms were good. 🤔 then they started talking to each other in Spanish so found that a bit rude as we were still trying to check in. Was shown to the dark restaurant to be offered some cold meats and cheese that had been left out for late arrivals. We just chose to have a drink. Went to our room which was in the same block as reception and restaurant. Very cramped room with 2 single beds and a sofa bed made up ready. Room looked OK but we had no room to move. No draws, one small wardrobe. I lived out my suitcase all week. Bath with shower attachment and shower curtain. Sink toilet. Hard towels very small and grubby looking. Angled dressing table to small to put your stuff on for 4 people. Only 2 chairs on balcony which was small too. Got up for breakfast first day all seemed OK. Food seemed OK. Went to reception to ask if they had a bigger room free but said she would check if they had an apartment free later at 25€ per night. Decided against moving as we didn't want to pay another 150€ on top of what we had already paid for not so great hotel. Sheets were never changed floor was never mopped or mopped properly all week. Hairs just moved from one area to another of the room. Had to keep cleaning floor ourselves felt so dirty. Having said that it was filthy the first night we got there because I had to clean the muck off my feet before I got in bed after walking on it. Trying to get a sunbed is a nightmare. They queue from 8.30 ready for pool to open at 10. I hate doing stuff like that. We managed to get a sunbed due to the fact that it was cloudy, as it was most of our stay. Pool was nice and big. There were 2 other pools around near other apartments but were more like plunge pools so didn't bother with them. There was also an adults only small pool but wasn't really a pool. We over looked this from our balcony along with others families that had children in them. I asked if my 15ywar old could come in the area with us as she looks 18 anyway and no one was using it but was told no over 18 only. The next day there was a Spanish couple in there with a child around 6 years old playing about in this "adults only pool" we were gobsmacked. You could see the children in other rooms looking from their balconies at this child in the pool. Beggars belief. No one told them to get out even tho they were setting tables for dinner in the same area. 😖 Food seemed to get worse as the week went on. Not a great deal of choice maybe due to the fact that the hotel isn't that big. Most of the time stuff
