Firstly let me just tell you that this hotel respects no guests at end of season This is what we had planned given our flight wasn't due until 9.30pm with the transfer booked for 5.45pm. We thought we'd get up, have breakfast, get the hotel to store the luggage and go explore the centre of the resort, enjoying the final day in full. The hotel had other ideas. We knew this was the last day of their season, What we didn't know was that with checkout being at 12pm at 1pm they were to lock everybody out of the hotel, with no access to toilets , water and basically just chucking you out on the hotel steps for what would have been nearly 5 hours in 25 degrees. All luggage had to be out of their storage by this deadline. Some people left their luggage in their rooms until just before the checkout deadline of 12pm only to find all keys had already been deactivated. We were not told of this on check-in and, although the closure was mentioned during entertainment shows during the week, nobody thought they would just sling everybody out at lunch time. It totally ruined the last day and led to hassle with transfers and flights and a day when we achieved absolutely nothing. Staff failed to have any concern for clients, especially those with late transfers. All they wanted to do was pack up and go home Absolutely shocking service. They need to wake up next year and realise if you want clients to return they deserve better. I felt for the "Cover Girls" performing the previous evening, they had to perform with no stage lighting team because they'd packed up and gone home already. Two bars and the outside stage were already shut three days before closure despite the the fact the weather was still glorious. End of season, as far as clients are concerned is at end of season, not mid way between your break. As far as the rest of the experience was concerned these are my good and bad comments: Good: A stunning sea view from virtually every room, worthy of 5 stars if everything else lived up to this standard Cleaning and service of rooms - good Variety and quality of food on offer through the day good (but see *below) Entertainment Acts - very good , but see ** below Bar staff - excellent - hardworking and friendly Choice of pools and their cleanliness good Bad: Lifts - absolutely dreadful, not sufficient of them, slow, noisy and regularly breaking down. 14 flights of stairs for those of us feeling our age is no fun at all. There appears to be little staff concern at this. General maintenance - lacking. Our door hinge totally pulled off part of the door frame at the top and you could see it was both poor quality and attached using just a few thin nails into plaster. You can see evidence around the hotel that maintenance and care of appearance is falling well short The restaurant needs work, the removable window flaps make the restaurant exceptionally hot in most areas. * Still in restaurant .
