Barceló Fuerteventura Mar

Just got back from 10 days here with our 6 year old. Hotel is lovely, spacious, very clean and well presented. Pools were big and plenty of choice (one is so warm). The food - people who say its bad really must be fussy, there is so much choice! They do grills at lunch and dinner so can have freedom grilled fish/steak/pork etc. There is pasta every day, the salad bar is extensive. We tried everything, calamari, Prawns, smoothies - including my 6 year old who tried them all. It was our first time stopping at a Barcelo hotel and would definitely stop in one again. The only negative we had was the air con isnt very cold, when we arrived it was over 40 degrees so this was abit off putting when we first arrived as we worried our room with be that hot for our entire stay. Luckily the temperature dropped abit and it made it bearable but it does need updating. Literally only negative. Hotel is right on the beach, close enough to pop back to the hotel for lunch then return to your lounger. The mini golf was more fun than we anticipated, the kids playground is lovely and there is a playground on the beach. Also I am a very light sleeper and was amazed how well I slept, hotel was busy but so peaceful. Had a wonderful family holiday.

A great hotel. Friendly staff and clean, well kept facilities. I came as a single dad with my two kids, 12 and 9. The pools were clean and the temperature perfect. A warm, salt water pool, and a non heated pool sit alongside each other. The food was decent enough although if you are not staying a minimum of 7 nights, even booked as all-inclusive, you can’t book the additional restaurants without paying what any non guest would pay. The buffet restaurant is always free though, and I don’t think we missed out. The service and food were both good. Local drinks, included in the price, are made with known brands and not going to give you a migraine, unless you really want one. Great list of cocktails and the bar staff know what they are doing. Rooms are a good size and we had a free upgrade to a beach view. All clean enough with some expected wear and tear, but nothing bad at all. Location is good, and only a 15m ride from the airport. The small town has some shops and a couple of restaurants. They look a bit run down but are probably ok. The shops are all typical tourist shops, and sell a wide range of knock-off stuff. Almost the same stuff, only a variation of, in each one. For any real shopping, I’d go to the main city or not bother. There is a supermarket which is modern and a good size. For a shorter trip it’s all ok and a scenic location, with a great beach and good facilities. If here longer I’d explore the island more, to stave off boredom.

First time at Barcelo and definitely won't be the last. Very friendly and very polite staff. It's a fairytale place, lots of activities and it's a wonderful place for children, Barcelo offers both you and your children a dream vacation. The food is exceptional and diverse, and every day there are different dishes. I highly recommend Barcelo and it will be saved to my favorites for future trips.

All inclusive stay niceties very poor, long queues for food and drinks both evening and daytime. Shame because fab hotel and great location with good hotel amenities
