We stayed at the Barcelo Royal Level August 25. We had a fantastic holiday and were really impressed with everything. We recieved a warm welcome on arrival, our room was cleaned to a high standard and were spacious. Beds were very comfortable. Pool area was well maintained with an excellent bar with friendly staff. The only downside to the pool area is that we were unable to get sun beds. Although we did expect this as its peak season and we don’t get up early to reserve - that’s what most people were doing. A little frustrating when the beds were not being used the majority of the day but it is what it is. It did quiet down at about 5 - 5.30. The buffet restaurant El Ancla was amazing! The view was spectacular, the service was incredible and the food was to a high standard. My son has allergies and we usually encounter problems with safe foods. But not here, staff were really helpful and prepared food for him. It’s one of the first times we’ve been able to use a hotel restaurant stress free. They recognised us on arrival and would prepare his food and bring it to him. I think the allergy was also noted against our room but it was nice that they remembered. I’m quite a fussy eater but really enjoyed the food on offer. It was more restaurant quality than your general hotel buffet. The grounds of the hotel and the location is perfect. The. Beach is close, it’s not far to the town and there is so much going on. We didn’t use a lot of the entertainment but there seemed to be something going on all the time to suit different needs. There was children’s clubs and children’s activities, discos etc. I would 100% return to Barcelo Royal Level and had the best time here. I’d highly recommend a visit.

What a relaxing break we had here! We stayed in the royal level adults only. It was heaven. We relaxed , we looked at the sea all day from sunloungers! Plenty of them all day too, no rush to get one. Sunbed service with a QR code. Drinks they had lots of choice, good cocktails. The pool was lovely. The whole place had been refurbished and was stunning. Our room was large, with a good seating balcony. Lovely toiletries in the bathroom. They had thought of everything I think! The breakfast was really good, lots of choice and nice to be adults only. We ate in the Mexican twice and the Brazilian once. They were very good. We ventured into the little village, enough for a week to get a drink, eat out if you wanted too and have a stroll around. The only criticism I have is that it took a long time to check in on the royal level and they didn’t give us our room number, so when we went to the bar as the room wasn’t ready they couldn’t help as they only take payment by room number, so it was a bit of a pain whilst they tried to find out what it was. If they could get your bracelet to tap and be able to pay that would be better. Also maybe someone coming round to take order from the sunbeds (as app could be temperamental) but that is a luxury! A lady comes round of an evening and pops a chocolate on your pillow too!! We had a great time and would definitely go back. Well done Barcelo - exactly what a holiday should be

We stayed here for 7 nights and had a really nice time. There were three of us and luckily we had a separate room, but it joined together which was nice. The staff were welcoming and helpful throughout our stay and made sure we had everything we needed. The rooms were lovely and big, beds were comfy, the only thing was the floors were quite dirty and they supply water, but not enough considering you can’t drink out of the tap. Luckily there is a supermarket down the road. The food was standard, not much choice unfortunately and it was quite cold most days. It was quite repetitive everyday with breakfast, lunch and dinner and we noticed flys around the food which was quite off putting. If you are a fussy eater or don’t like fish, probably best to avoid as fish was very popular. Apart from that we all enjoyed our stay.

Another fabulous holiday at The Barcelo Royal Fuerteventura. I was worried it would be too hot in July/August but because its such a windy island it never felt TOO hot. The hotel must look after its staff well as there is great continuity and although a lot of friendly faces were missing as they were on holiday, the regular staff were there to greet me and immediately made me feel at home. I joined in various activities run by James, a fully trained PT and enjoyed relaxing meditation classes, pilates and stretching ... all taking place under the shade of an emormous palm tree. He also does an Aqua Class, great fun, lots of laughter and an excellent work out while you are at it. If you get a chance to visit the spa, have a treatment with Pamela, Stephania or Sara. All fabulous and well qualified and as a Royal guest it comes with a discount too.

What a fabulous time we have had! We did really enjoy the perks of Royal Level. We only have positives to share and particular highlights for us were: the friendly staff throughout the hotel, the comfy beds, the delicious range of foods, the cool quiet space in the main buffet area reserved for Royal Level, private pool area for Royal Level and access to all amenities. Thank you to the team - we plan to return with the wider family.

Stayed at Barcelo Royal Level (Adults Only) for 7 nights with my partner and also visited Barcelo Mar. Aesthetically beautiful, but extremely disappointing service & experience. Arrival was smooth, but check-in was cold and rushed. Despite there being no one behind us, we received little info about what our Royal Level access included, which caused confusion throughout the stay. Our room was spotless and comfortable, but the air conditioning was so loud it disrupted our sleep. A shame, as the room was otherwise excellent. Choose between cool and noisy, or hot and peaceful… The resort grounds were the saving grace of our stay. They are stunning and well-kept, especially the Royal Level pool area. However, there aren’t enough loungers or umbrellas, and towel shortages were frequent… with slow response from staff even after complaints (took 90 minutes for them to find more towels one day) Food was hit-and-miss. The Royal Level buffet (Tere Sana) had fresh cold options but a limited and repetitive hot selection, often served cold. The Italian à la carte was tasty, but the service brought the experience down. The Mar buffet had more variety but struggled with replenishment during busy times. We did enjoy the food by to pool, as this was prepared fresh (a bit of a cheat code if after reading this you do decide to say) Drinks were generally good, though the quality depended on who was serving. The biggest letdown was the staff. Many were disengaged, unwelcoming and some I’d go as far as to say, were rude. One example being.. when getting drinks from the bar, some staff would just look at you - no “hello, what can I get you” or “Hola” - Just a stare. This continued in the restaurant's where staff huffed and puffed their way through service, with no sense of warmth when serving their customers. Everything was either, no, met with silence which on many occasions made myself and my girlfriend quite uncomfortable. Now there’s nothing wrong with refusing a request, but there is a distinct way to do this politely, and without the customer feeling rejected and like they’ve inconvenienced you. From the front desk to the bars and restaurants. No smiles, no conversation, and very little effort to make guests feel cared for. Managers were visible but didn’t take action on obvious issues like towel shortages or food delays. The real lack of synergy and organisation was evident - one bar manager even berated his staff (who appeared to be the only ones doing a good job) - in front of everyone - completely unprofessional in any professional capacity. This place looks 5-star, but the service doesn’t reflect it. If you value genuine hospitality and warm, attentive service, this resort will disappoint. As a professional who looks after nearly 200 staff, the service destroyed what is an incredibly beautiful hotel. With better training and leadership, this could be a top-tier destination. Until then, we wouldn’t return or recommend, especially at this price p

Firstly I want to start by saying it is definitely worth paying the extra for royal level, adults only. We were unsure at first but as an active couple it made it worth it as everything was included to keep us busy. The pool area was perfect, quiet but around lunch time there was aqua gym which provided some great entertainment. The two guys James and another one who I didn’t get the name of were brilliant. The room was lovely and clean however we did get a gheko in our room and the staff were far from helpful. One man came and was frightened to death and the Second Lady was just like I’m not sure what you expect me to do. So we slept two nights with it in our room before we finally managed to get it out ourselves. In terms of food and restaurants our royal level buffet was exceptional. However, 70% of the staff were rude. I asked for a Fanta zero and was given a full fat Fanta bottle. I politely asked if I could have the zero at which the two women stormed off and then came back with a cup full of Fanta laughing as they had clearly poured the full fat Fanta into my cup thinking I would just assume it was zero. Quite rude and wouldn’t be great if you were diabetic. But I must reiterate that the food was spot on. We did try the Mexican to switch it up and the options were much smaller and a lot was cold. This meant our choice of restaurants was limited but we were super happy with the food we got being royal level. The app is great as it means you can book everything in advance and organise your holiday but things like requesting amenities was slow-not an issue though. I saw a few negatives about royal level reception staff which I do agree with, there is usually only one and already serving someone else. We barely visited reception as it was a short walk away so this wasn’t really an issue. Our time at Barceló was brilliant but that’s because of all the things we planned, the food and the pool area.
