Elba Sara Beach & Golf Resort

The staff couldn't do enough for you if you had a complaint if they could fix it it was done straight away.Food very good rooms clean and good size.

The actual hotel is quite nice but is let down by the fact the towels are old and some have holes in them, even had beach towels left in our room as they probably run out of bath and hand towels. Restaurant, well most meals you will find 1 or more items on your plate to be cold/warm, the restaurant is under manned so staff running round trying to serve drinks and tidy up etc are on a loser. There were on many occasions where there had been food spilt under tables not been cleaned up so struggled finding somewhere comfy to sit without having to dodge standing in food. Bar, beer supposed to be Gruzcampo, no chance more like flat Heineken, vodka ok but Diet Coke not nice. Pool area is dirty and never seen anyone cleaning around pool area, I did not realise how dirty it was till we were packing and putting flip flops in case, the sole was absolutely filthy. By the way we stopped at Elba Carlota just close by and that was same, we were told Sara was loads better but both same, won’t be back.

I have been to caleta de fuste 6 times and have to say, this was the best hotel I have stayed in. The staff are so friendly and welcoming. The room was spotless, I requested a high floor and was put on floor 5, absolutely beautiful view. There are 6 floors. The pool area was clean and lots of sunbeds. The music played was a mix, even a bit of Celine dion in there! The food was really good, lots of variety. Being half board you have to queue to pay for your drinks on the way out, but the staff work quickly through this. Rachel was lovely. The grounds are beautifully kept and inside the hotel is always clean and tidy. I plan to go back in June. Please ignore the bad reviews. Yes, you are in the flight path, but somewhere has to be! You get used to it and it's not a big problem. Well done to all the staff that help to make this hotel a pleasure to stay in.

Returned home on Sunday after an 8 night stay with my husband, we have stayed a few before & always enjoy it here. We had a nice room on the 5th floor with a great sea view but no sun on the balcony. The room & bathroom was kept clean @ all times. A bit of a hit or miss if the maid leaves you any coffee or milk!!! Good choice of food @ all meals, I need to mention Tracey in the restaurant she is fantastic friendly & funny, all the staff are great to be honest. The guys in the bar upstairs @ night time are also fantastic & try their best to serve drinks as quick as they can so please be patient with them. Always plenty sun loungers available although this was March, weather was good except for the 1st two days when it was really windy although this is obviously not the hotels fault!!! We had a meal one night @ the tex mex, really enjoyed our food & a nice change from the buffet restaurant, good service & a really chilled quiet atmosphere. Staff on reception always helpful & polite & was good to see Kasia again (public relations) always has a happy smiling face . I have never in any of my reviews had a bad word to say about Elba Sara BUT this time I was a little bit annoyed & frustrated as it states if you have a fidelity card you will be given water on arrival, I have never had this before & didn’t receive any this time either. I thought the way forward was to make requests via the APP, after we had checked in & had something to eat I requested another 2 pillows through the app as my husband has arthritis in his neck & these never appeared, I asked again 3 or 4 days later again through the app but no pillows turned up!!! I also reported through the app on the 1st night that the balcony doors wouldn’t lock, again there was no response to that either, I don’t leave my doors unlocked @ home & didn’t expect to have to do it here either & just didn’t feel safe through the night regardless being on the 5th floor. So lesson learned if & when I come back again I will immediately go to reception with any issues. On the last day we asked for a late check out as flight wasn’t until 9.20pm but it was a NO once again, same as all the other times we have stayed I understand it’s subject to availability but we have stayed here in the months of March, September & October & never been able to keep our room on. Will we be back probably, but not this year as we have other holidays planned. Anyone going soon then enjoy

The hotel is comfortable clean and caters to client needs well. This hotel charges for a sea view and charges additionally for a premium view, this was my issue… The room I was allocated did have a lovely view but it was overlooked and set back in the corner meaning over my 7 day visit there was no sun making it very cold for sitting out. I have posted photos for all to make up their own mind. So all should be aware, in my opinion the premium sea view rooms are simply upper floor sea view.

The transfer from the airport was really quick on the shuttle bus (less than 30 mins). Check in at the hotel was quick & easy & the reception staff were helpful & really welcoming. Our room wasn't ready straight away but we could put our luggage in storage & the reception called within the hour to say the room was ready. The rooms were comfortable, lots of room for 5 of us - we had interconnecting rooms & had lovely sea views. The floors needed a bit of a clean & the cleaners didn't come daily (apparently you have to request at reception) & even when they did it was mostly just changing the beds. We took drinks up to the room & these weren't cleared away. It would have been nice if the minibar in the room was stocked with some alcohol and soft drinks. The pool area was nice - two pools, one deeper, one more shallow where they'd do a lot of the day time entertainment (aquafit, foam party etc) & a baby/smaller chiledren pool with a couple of slides. The miniclub seemed to be popular for the really little ones, but I think the hotel could benefit from a bit more for the older kids, for example - a couple of bigger slides, a games room (pool table etc) maybe a jacuzzi for the adults too. The pool area did start to get really busy & lots of sunbeds would be taken early so we just paid for the 4 poster beds for ease. They could also do with more toilets round by the pool. The adults only area was a nice touch & so we're the balienese 4 poster beds (payable at reception). The food was probably one of the best things, there was a great selection & something for everyone. The main buffet area got really busy especially after the kids broke up from school - sometimes getting a table was quite difficult. We didn't get to use the Al la carte restaurants (Italian & Tex Mex) you can only use one during your stay but there was nothing available so you have to be quick at booking these! The all inclusive drinks is what let it down for us. Beer, wine & soft drinks were fine to order but usually we can make our way through the cocktail menu, but sadly you had the choice of about 3 & any of the others you had to pay for! In the snack bar, two of the cocktails were out of a slushy machine. The staff in the Broadway bar were a hit more accommodating & would fix you up a bit more of an exciting cocktail. Although be wary of the pina colada as one had bits in it where the cream had separated. The hotel is in a really good location - the beach is right on the door step (although not sandy) it's very pretty & if you walk further down towards the harbour (about 30 mins) the beach is gorgeous, lots of restaurants to eat & drink at & you can book boat trips etc. Although these are so expensive! We went on the catermeran, 5 of us (3 adults, 2 children) it was 4 hours & included food & drink. The crew members were amazing & so energetic, music playing & lovely views but it felt more like a boozy brunch. Whereas it was sold to us as a boat trip where we could sn
