"We stayed two nights, and one would have been enough. The three-star hotel is a no-brainer. More than renovations (except for the bathroom, which is urgent), it needs a good cleaning and maintenance. Water is leaking from the shower, all the trim is rusty, exhaust fans, curtains, and windows are dirty... The only redeeming feature is the friendly staff. We do not recommend it."

"Just returned from an 8 night stay with my wife, daughter and 2 grandchildren aged 5 and 7. One of the best family holidays we've ever had. The atmosphere was so chilled and the grounds are so extensive, you can easily go and find a place to play ball with the kids. The splash pool is fantastic and the kids, and me, were in every day by 10.15. N.B. there are no parasols in this area, so worth taking one of your own if you have very young children who need to kept out of the sun. We had 2 interconnecting rooms and they were of a good size; and the 2 bathrooms are useful when people are getting ready! Unusually, mini-disco is at 6.30 p.m. but it works well, as you can then go in for dinner at 7p.m. As someone who's sat through a fair amount of mini-discos, I really liked this one as they did some different songs/dances every night, which is also quite unusual!! The other entertainment was outside and was pretty good on the whole. One negative is that if it's busy there are loads of white plastic tables and chairs stacked up, which you have to help yourself to; but they're absolutely filthy. The hotel needs to get someone with a pressure washer to get them spruced up, now it's high season. Bar service was good and the selection of drinks on AI is reasonable and includes Aperol! The pool bar is also much better than average, with fresh food being cooked all day! My grandkids aren't big on breakfast but could get chicken nuggets or toasties, crisps, chips etc at the pool bar to keep their energy levels up. A big plus in this area is the use of tokens which you exchange for a large plastic beaker. This means that you don't see loads of abandoned glasses in the splash pool area, and it was still tidy at closing time. [They could probably do with a couple more bins though!] The food was plentiful and varied, and I think you'd have to be pretty picky not to find something you like. Just across the promenade is the beach and the beautiful sea. The beach is great for kids, as when you walk into the sea, there are no sudden drops and the water is crystal clear. I found the staff very helpful when asked to assist with taxi-booking etc. You need to collect the beach towels from the spa and pay a 10Euro per towel refundable deposit. Safe was free as was the wifi, which was pretty good. Nice clean, safe promenade to walk along, but not much in the way of excitement, but that suited us. We probably wouldn't go as a couple, but we've already booked for next May/June for the five of us. Short flight, short transfer, low rise buildings and a real family-friendly atmosphere!"

"Myself (25) , my partner (28) and our daughter (7 months old) stayed here for 5 nights. The hotel is a clean…aside from the fact that bar staff let pigeons eat crisps on the bar table ( see pic), and modern hotel, however unfortunately the bad out-ways the good. I’m not one to review, but I feel like I really need to say my part on this. The staff were incredibly rude not only to us, but to nearly every single person at the hotel. It was a known fact/joke that the staff would actually SHOUT at their customers and infront of children. If you were all inclusive this was worse. The room was clean, however it was literally bare. No kettle, iron, small wardrobe space. Now here’s the part that really annoyed me, we asked if there was any chance we could have a kettle in our room because we need to make bottles for our daughter. They demanded we have them 25 euros and a 15 euro deposit to have a kettle. This to me was just crazy. I have been to numerous hotels over the years and I have never not had a kettle. We booked this hotel because it ‘accommodates’ families…this to me is just very very poor. The food was average. Nothing special. Dining room was nice. Lastly…which is the most concerning part for me as a mother. The door to our room did not lock after it was shut. You have to scan a key card to enter like most hotels. However on your way out the door would shut behind you but not actually lock. We only found this out on our second day when I just, without thinking, tried the door handle and the door just opened up again. So anyone could have just walked into our room when we were out all day. In order for it to lock we had to slam the door. And I mean slam it. This to me is just concerning as all my child’s items are in that room, along with expensive jewellery and items. The pool was freezing. I had my daughter water temperature device with me and even when it was scorching hot weather the water was only 22 degrees. Hardly anyone was in the pool and of course this isn’t safe for babies/toddlers. The area is very run down, not much to see. This holiday was booked through TUI in store. And I will be forwarding this review to them so they can alert families about these issues. I appreciate everyone has different experiences but really reconsider if you’re thinking about going here. I wish that we did our own research rather than just trusting TUI."

"Stayed here two nights and picked Mas Gallau only because it looked slightly better than the typical tourist hotels in Salou. Reality: it has virtually no facilities — no gym, no sauna, nothing. The suite is basic to the point of feeling cheap: stone floor, plastic furniture, and a bathtub with cigarette stains. No walk-in shower — you literally have to climb into the tub.Breakfast is a disaster. No eggs, nothing fresh, just some bread, cereal (cold milk only if you ask), and a couple of basic cold cuts. The Nespresso machine only had decaf capsules left. - however, the lady from the reception was kind enough to bring some Cappuccino.  Yes, it’s €8.50, but for a $200/night hotel that is a pretty low offering.  It also sits right next to the AP7 highway, with one exit door basically opening onto it. Conclusion: overpriced, zero facilities, lousy breakfast — not worth the money."
