"Son Bernadinet is an absolutely beautiful place. Architecturally and from a landscape point of view, it is genuinely stunning and has nothing to envy from some of Mallorca’s much more famous hotels where I have stayed. The gardens are gorgeous and perfectly maintained, the different buildings are beautiful, the pools are lovely — especially the main one — and the restaurant pergola overlooking the gardens is particularly charming. The rooms are not modern, but they are attractive, comfortable and well kept, with good-quality towels, bathrobes and lovely Penhaligon’s amenities. Even the small gym is very pleasant. The location is also excellent: close to Campos and conveniently positioned between Palma, the airport and some of the best beaches in the south and east of the island. Unfortunately, the management and service do not match the beauty of the property. The hotel feels seriously understaffed. There is no real reception, more of a small office that is often empty, so you frequently have to look for someone, usually around the kitchen area. There is generally no staff around the pool either: if you want to order something, you have to go and find someone yourself, and sometimes you are asked to wait and then collect it yourself. Most of the staff are kind, but they speak very limited English, which is surprising for a hotel of this level. There are also small details that make the experience feel much more basic than it should: the two bottles of water provided on arrival are not replenished, there is no coffee machine or kettle in the room, no evening turndown service, and none of those small touches you would normally expect from a lovely hotel like this, such as a welcome treat on arrival or a small chocolate or sweet left in the room in the evening. I also found the pool policy quite odd: the large and deep main pool is for families and children, despite there being no lifeguard, while the smaller, shallower and more secluded pool is adults-only. I would personally reverse this. The biggest disappointment by far, however, is the restaurant and the quality of the food. This is where the gap between the beauty of the hotel and the actual experience becomes particularly striking. Breakfast is actually quite good: there is a decent selection, the ingredients are good quality and overall we enjoyed it. Even the omelette, although very poorly presented, tasted good. Lunch and especially dinner are a completely different story. We had dinner at the hotel on our first evening and, after that experience, decided to avoid the restaurant entirely for the rest of our stay. We also tried a few snacks during the afternoon, which unfortunately left us with a similar impression. The food is simply far below the standard you would expect from a property like this. The dishes are extremely basic and the presentation is surprisingly poor. It is not about expecting fine dining or overly elaborate cuisine; even simple food can be excellent. The probl"

"Very disappointing! Before booking, communication with Xisco (the owner) was very quick and friendly. However, when we had to travel to Barcelona due to a sudden death in the family and couldn't use our reservation, there was absolutely no understanding or willingness to compromise. Messages and calls were initially ignored. Instead, the amount was simply debited from our card without any prior communication or explanation. Only after repeated inquiries did we receive the terse message: "Buenas tardes, dirección ha decidido aplicar los términos de la reserva. Lo sentimos." It's not about the money, but about the manner in which things were handled: In such an exceptional family situation, the least they could have done was offer the option of rebooking for another weekend. Instead, we experienced no human decency whatsoever. We find it very regrettable that guests are treated this way while rooms remain empty and are advertised.
