Ok, but not great… As a solo traveller I was looking to upgrade to a sea view room. I emailed six weeks before I travelled and again a week before arrival to request an upgrade, which I was happy to pay for. I received a reply saying that was possible but it’d be a charge, which was fine. When I arrived I was told as I was a single traveller they wouldn’t use a sea view room on just one person, even though I was prepared to pay. The bathroom was very worn, cracks in the tiles and the shower flooded the bathroom every time it was used. However it was kept very clean, the housekeeping were brilliant. At breakfast one of the chefs was constantly coughing in to their hand, it was very unsanitary, and then when they were using their hands they were just openly coughing. The housekeeping staff were lovely, however the rest of the staff were not very polite, rarely greeted you as you walked in and out of reception or breakfast, and when I was querying the room upgrade option with them, they were very curt and not apologetic or understanding. The pool areas is nice and well maintained, however every morning they put crime scene type tape around the area to stop people reserving dinners before 9am. I am an early riser and like to be actually by the pool at around 8am, so this was a little frustrating, but understandable given that it gets very busy. By 10am you couldn’t get a sunbed. It was the last week of June, so I dread to think how busy it will be come July/August. This hotel and resort was largely full of German guests, I only heard one other English couple at the hotel and all the restaurant and menus at the hotel, and in town, were German, French and then British translations I was rarely greeted/spoken to in English - which is not an issue for me, but some travellers may find that intimidating.
