Disappointing Stay – Poor Hygiene and Mismanaged Property I stayed at this property in Caniço, Madeira, hosted by Holidu, and unfortunately, the experience fell far below expectations. The house itself has potential, but it’s poorly maintained and was not in a clean state when we arrived. Hygiene standards were lacking — we encountered cockroaches in our room on more than one occasion, which was deeply unsettling. The property is mismanaged by the owner, Marco, who seems to see himself more as a hotelier than the manager of a rural home. He regularly walks around the property giving instructions to the one overworked staff member, rather than contributing himself. His mother also roams the premises frequently, and their interactions often feel intrusive to guests seeking peace and privacy. The host has an inflated sense of what the property offers, naming a broken plastic couch next to a cold water tank the “Jacuzzi Lounge,” which feels more like a misguided attempt at luxury than a genuine amenity. This pretentious approach overshadows what could otherwise be a charming rural stay. In the end, our holiday was saved by the natural beauty of Madeira — a truly stunning island — but I would not recommend this accommodation to others. Sadly, it’s a place I would not return to.

I booked a room for one night via ******* because my flight was canceled, as other 24 flights were. So, there's not much room to choose in such situations. The location was not at the address mentioned in my booking, but they shared with me the GPS coordinates when they realised I am so late. The taxi driver said it was not a nice place, but whatever, it was late evening. I arrived, the room was very much improvised, one light switch for all lights, plugs nit working, table made of a glass with was moving, shower and toilet in the room with no door, cold and windy inside. The booking said they have a restaurant and wellness area, but none was true. They asked me to pay 30 euro cash deposit. I went to bed, and 20 minutes later, I was not able to sleep, and my skin was itching.. had some bites. I turned on the light, and there were fleas jumping in the bed. Fleas...I started to shake, killed some, and decided to leave. But the location is very remote and there was no taxi available. The brd smelled like old and cigarette, although it was marked as non smoking room. Early in the morning, I asked them to drive me to the airport, as they said they did it for 25 euro. They drove me, had no receipt, and kept my deposit. Have to say tney have a black Mercedes with leder inside, which confirmed me they just take advantage of people. This was part of the top 3 worst hotel l ever saw.

Estive alojado neste hotel de 3 estrelas mas a simpatia,o serviço e o carinho que recebi foi de 5 estrelas.viajei de Lisboa para a madeira, trabalho na área do turismo e o que tenho a dizer é que a minha estadia foi maravilhosa.super limpo ,com piscina,uma vista maravilhosa mas principalmente as pessoas que me receberam.recomendo vivamente para quem quer conhecer a madeira ficar aqui.e irei voltar sem dúvida alguma.

O local é péssimo, frio, úmido, da muito mofo! o proprietário (por mensagem) me tratava como se eu vivesse lá de favor sendo que pagava 900€ por um t0! Fiz um acordo com ele na saída, pois não dei os 2 meses de aviso, mas conversamos a respeito e pra não cumprir a parte dele, inventou várias desculpas inclusive dizendo que a conta de luz aumentou mais de 1000€ por minha culpa (devia estar com a nasa lá dentro pra consumir tanto), em seguida me bloqueou não me dando oportunidade nem pra conversar a respeito! Muitas vezes, desde q lá cheguei, aconteceu de n ter água quente, mas como nunca reclamei ele começou a colocar a culpa também em mim! Não recomendo!

El entorno inmejorable. Debe hacerse reforma integral al mobiliario y al apartamento. Wifi también debería mejorar. Se están haciendo mejoras en el complejo. Es un lugar tranquilo que viene bien a todo aquel que desee descansar.
