The Bat and Ball is a small hotel with a few rooms. But still they managed to offer a great staying experience. Excellent communication about arriving, nice and clean rooms, great beds, a small but delicious breakfast and more. Bat and Ball exceeded our expectations!

Newly renovated B&B which is modern and comfortable. The bed was very comfortable and shower great - both very important! There was also a wardrobe which was good to see as so many places nowadays just give you an open hanging space with a few hangers. Breakfast was included and is a table laid out with cereal, bread, bagels jam, cream cheese and some berries. They also had a few danishes which were good but the table wasn’t replenished so when we came down at 8.45am there was only half a bagel and one danish left! The room is cleaned on request not automatically. And unfortunately I discovered someone had left dirty underwear and rubbish in a drawer in our room! So requested cleaning and asked them to remove it. (Which they did). The check in was seamless and was available early which was great. It was quite a long walk into town - about 20 minutes so we got taxis a couple of times as the weather was grim! Overall I’d recommend staying here. It provided a good nights sleep and was reasonably priced. There is also free onsite parking!

We were looking for something a bit last minute to visit the Christmas markets. So glad we found this little gem. The room was beautifully furnished and staff friendly. The breakfast was delicious. I highly recommend this as a weekend getaway.
