Anchorage Inn and Resort

Stayed in the main building; what a terrible design. The building faces the ocean but the main hallway (on open air corridor) is in front of your room's window. So unless you want everyone walking by to be able to look into your room you need to close the blinds. So although we should have had a great view, instead we stayed in the dark.

Place is a dump. I don’t know what all these reviews are about. The room smells bad, door to bathroom won’t close, shower is gross you get the drift…

The grounds of the hotel are beautiful. The rooms are extremely small, the bathroom sink is in the actual living space. The room was very clean but dated, they are trying to update but have a ways to go. We stayed in the main building on the 3rd floor, we had a nice view of the ocean. There are not private balconies, just a walk way with 2 chairs and a small snack table per room, the walk way bounces when anyone walks by. This should be looked into by management. We must compliment the hotel, we mentioned that it was our anniversay and they did surprise us with swans and flower petals on the bed. The pools are great and the sun deck is really nice. You can't beat the location, if you want to be close to the beach!

We are seniors and we travel often so I know good from bad. We were really happy here. We booked midweek in May for one night. Because of an impending bad storm, we tried to change the date two days before. Usually that is not possible but they let us come in on Sunday for no extra fee. Very nice. We stayed in the Atrium that has an indoor pool right outside the room. Nice to relax. The pool was very clean and no smell. There was almost no one in the pool but that might change in the summer. We had a room with 2 queens and a small balcony with an ocean view. In choosing a room --you probably will get a better view of the ocean at a higher level. The room was spotlessly clean and nicely decorated. There was a small refrigerator and also a microwave! Plush towels, nice beds. I think the room was recently redone. Staff was friendly and helpful. They were busy getting things ready and cleaning. The only trash I saw was a cigarette butt on the grass. Some guests are slobs. There is a beach front restaurant across the street. The beach is across the street where I watched a beautiful sun rise while sitting on the bleacher type steps for the public to use. There is a beautiful outdoor pool with many chairs to relax on and a roof top area too. We realize that the rates are higher in the summer but I think it would be well worth the money. We had no complaints. We hope to return.

Room was spacious and very clean. Walls were thin and we cojld hear peple talk from other room and children running around through hallway. Did not sleep well first night, but second night was better.

Beautiful views, friendly staff and close to many shops, antique stores, historical sites all within driving distance. Only complaint were rooms were not soundproof enough and we could hear the next guest’s conversations and kids running above us. Otherwise, it was a great experience! Would definitely revisit and recommend!!
