Queen Victoria Hotel by Newmark

We stayed recently at the Queen Victoria hotel and the staff were absolutely wonderful. We had our accommodation moved to the hotel by our agent 2 days out from our visit to Cape Town. Our room was large, clean and overlooked an industrial area, however this did not detract from the table mountain views. When we used the bathroom we noticed very poor water pressure and lukewarm hot water. We reported it to staff, who immediately replied they would have it looked at. When we returned to the room the plumber was there. The problem was not an easy fix, so we were offered another room, not of the same spacious size or view, the staff then shifted us across the courtyard, to another hotel.While all this was going on we needed to call a Dr. As my husband was ill. The staff were wonderful ensuring that one was called immediately and we were then off to the hospital. The staff were amazing throughout everything that was going on, this made our stay much more pleasant.

We loved QV hotel! We were made to feel at home because of the friendly and professional way we were treated. The food was wonderful and the bar had lots of choice. It is just away from the waterfront so it's peaceful to stay there. Go there if you can.

My mom and I stayed at the Queen Victoria Hotel twice in May, once for the initial leg of our trip, and twice when our flight back to the US was canceled, and we needed to spend an extra night in Cape Town. The hotel is located so close to the waterfront, and it's an easy walk across the street to all the stores, entertainment, and restaurants. Our rooms were extremely comfortable, and the food delicious - what made the hotel stand out was the staff, they really want to make sure that you are satisfied and have everything you need to make your stay as comfortable, enjoyable, and special, as possible. The bar and restaurant has a wonderful patio that overlooks Table Mountain, and we shared many a meal and drink there. I will definitely stay here again next time I'm in Cape Town.
