Sanbona Wildlife Reserve

Sanbona Wildlife Reserve is a league of it's own. Our driver picked us up from Cape Town and it took about 2 and a half hours to reach the gate of Sanbona From the gate to our glamping tents was another 90 mins drive into an expansive dessert - 62,000 hectares We got real lucky and saw Lionesses, Cheetah, Giraffes, Hippos, Rhinos, Baboons, Elephants etc. Our Guide Joe was absolutely fantastic and knowledgeable The glamping tents were so spacious, connecting you right back to nature with outdoor showers, jacuzzi etc Our meals were fantastic, and they can accommodate to most dietary restrictions. We ended up trying both the Springbok, Kudu, Hake, Kingklip - all local delicacies Love how South African wines were included in our full board experience allowing us to sample Bruts, Rosé and even their Pinotage We ended the evening stargazing as usual, this time being able to see both the Southern and Northern Hemispheree

From the initial bus ride from the reception point to the arrival at the Dwyka tented lodge (absolutely stunning accommodation) to the food, drink, superb staff and service to the Safari guide who went above and beyond to find us sightings that we could only have hoped for (ask for Josh, I’m sure they’re all good) I’d do it all over again in a heartbeat Thank you Sanbona

We truly had the best experience ever at Dwyka Tented Lodge. The whole staff is amazing and the services provided are top of their class. The food is incredible. The massages were amazing. The room was huge, super clean and comfortable. Our guide Nicole truly was the best. We spent great game drives with her and our little group. She truly is passionate about her job, respectful and understanding about the animals. She has amazing knowledge about the all kind of species (animals, birds, plants, etc) We spent a wonderful time there, would definitely go back and recommend without any hesitation.
