The Carara National Park forms the backdrop for this small, countryside community. The Bijagual Waterfall, just 5 minutes away, is one of the many local waterfalls and the tallest in Costa Rica. Because of Carara Nature Retreat’s location on the edge of the Carara National Park (the only transition forest in the Central Pacific where species of dry and humid forests converge) you will see a variety of diverse local animals, flora, and fauna. Carara is a worldwide known birdwatching destination where guests can see many birds including Hummingbirds, White-Fronted Parrots, Macaws, Toucans, Parrots, Finches, other local birds up close and personal. And we are just 25 minutes from Jaco's touristy town & beaches.
