OURSIDE GARDEN AREA IS A DISGRACE. The hotel is going through some building works, but it's such a shame that there is no investment in the outside space. The garden furniture hasn't been maintained and there are overflowing ashtrays on several tables which have been there for weeks! They are understaffed but no one is taking resposibility for jeeping the outside space clean.. Old umbrellas are dumped under the window in plain sight. There is often broken glass on the lawn. Its pitiful to be honest and a disgrace for Premier Inn to think this is OK for their guests to endure.

The hotel is having some major renovations done so it’s noisy, the car park is overcrowded with trade vans.. space if you can get one is a premium. The WiFi is appalling and decides on its own when it wants to work (they offer an ultimate Wi-Fi package which you have to pay extra for, so I suspect that is the better service). Some of the staff are happy and cheerful, especially behind the bar… Whereas the other staff mainly on reception are just plain miserable. This hotel is not value for money and it’s location is remote.

Arrived to find building works - crane, lorries, forklifts etc with no prior notification. Room too hot and unable to sleep, duvet with horrific staining. Window netting rail fell down during the night. Hot water takes ages to fill the sink for a shave. Standard Double with only a shower - prior Premiers we've stayed at have King Size beds and baths with showers... highly disappointed

I waited 15 mins for someone to come to reception, having press the bell 4 times. I was tired and needed a bed, the receptionist eventually came out and told me off for ringing the bell 4 times, she said once is all that was needed. She was rude and unpleasant and told me she was the only member of staff on duty. No apology for the wait. I normally stay at another hotel in Truro which is cheaper and much nicer. The hotel parking was limited due to building work, there was nothing really positive to say about the place, I will not be returning.

Overall a great hotel. Room clean and quite cool despite the weather. Kelly and Tracy from reception were lovely and helpfully answered all my questions about local food places and options for the attached Beefeater. A brilliant end to a long work day!

On arrival I was not asked if I was ok with stairs/carrying suitcase, but assigned a first floor room, nor informed about the meal deal.I am over retirement age! The room was clean and tidy. However, the towel rail had previously broken and only part was left attached to the wall. Therefore, nowhere to hang wet towels. The toilet seat was loose and the basin tap had to be left running for several minutes to obtain warm water but then only at a “dribble” rate. I ate in the restaurant. It was there that the meal deal was explained. On the Wednesday, I asked the receptionist to book a table for 6.30 pm the following evening (Thursday) with breakfast at 8.30am on the Friday. In stead of logging into the computer, she wrote my name and requested booking on a piece of paper. The following morning, the same receptionist was on duty. I re-iterated my meal deal booking and once again she noted all the details on a piece of paper. I was not informed about payment. On arrival for my evening meal, I was told there was no booking and the restaurant was full. I could eat in the bar and order from there! I queued up, placed my order and advised subject to the meal deal. After 5-10 mins, the barman came over to my table and advised I was not eligible for meal deal as I had not paid - very embarassing! I explained what had occurred and was advised to go back to Hotel receptionist to resolve. I have to say this receptionist was extremely pleasant and apologetic, and situation resolved. Although work being undertaken at the premises, it did not affect my stay, but parking was at a premium. The Hotel itself is very tired looking both inside and out. This is the worst Premier Inn I have stayed in. A shame as convenient for all usual Cornish sights.
