A nice facility approx 1.5k from the main village of Carvoeiro, Colina Village is a great base for exploring the Algarve. Location-wise it’s ideal for Albufeira, Portimaò and Lagos as well as the two main water parks in the region. An uber to Albufeira cost me €19 and to Carvoeiro if was around €4 a time. Allegedly it’s around €45 to Faro airport but I had transfers so it didn’t worry me. The facility is formed of a number of apartments in a two in a residence formation ie one apartment on the ground floor, one on the first. Reception is at the main entrance. There is an indoor heated pool and a large outdoor non-heated pool, both are very clean and have showers. There is a bar, a restaurant and a couple of tennis court and a small kiddies play area at the back. The apartments consist of bedroom(s), loving room, bathroom, living area, kitchen and an outdoor patio area which is your space but openly accessible from people being curious. The kitchen was well appointed having a fridge freezer, filter coffee maker, toaster, double hob and oven. Ticked a lot of boxes, but it had no kettle so I had to boil water in a pan. No big deal but just took a wee while. The living room had a tv in it, lots of Portuguese/Spanish channels as well as CNN, Sky News and BBC News. The only kiddies channel was in Portuguese but you are in Portugal so don’t knock it. Now the big downside - NO WIFI in the apartments. This was a bit of a pain but I had a reasonable amount of data roaming, but I went with a view to getting some work done and I was quite limited in that. Of course if you are travelling with kids then this could be difficult, likewise if you are looking to hook up your BBC player etc. Overall though I had a pleasant stay, the staff were superb, facilities good and location superb. Would I stay again, well if they had WiFi I’d book again for next year right now but to be fair, I’ll hang off for now as oni do like my digital stuff.
