Conveniently located near the city center and train station, the hostel offers clean dorms, friendly staff, and a diverse breakfast. However, some may find the quirky decor and shared bathrooms to be a drawback.

What an experience ! Sleep in a old cellar that has been refurbushed. Place is close to the city center, clean, casual and staff is friendly. Of course, dorms are small but that's cool to do at least for a night. Nice breakfast, a terrace to enjoy some time off

I had a great 2 night stay here. I will give an honest review of different aspects of the hostel. Location: Great location. Short 10/15 minute walk in to Ljubljana / the castle. Supermarkets also located near by. Bus / Train station also only a 5/10 minute walk where you can catch the bus to Bled. Staff: Staff were very friendly and helpful at check in. Can’t complain. Cleanliness: The hostel was very clean and well maintained. No complaints. Room: I stayed in a single cell, which I liked as I had been in shared dorms throughout my travels so this was a nice change. Bed very comfortable and sockets/lights at the bed. Very cool room with lots of space. Social aspect: I didn’t find there to be much promotion of social activities, which is fine for my but may not be ideal for many solo travellers, possibly it gets busier in the summer and this changes. Food: Breakfast was included during my stay. I had some coffee/fruit in the morning. Selection of bread/cheese/ham/cereals also available. - there is also a common kitchen area where you can make your own meals, this area is quite small. - good spacious, and hot showers available.

Hostel Celica was a very nice place to stay in Ljubljana. The staff were incredible, and the free breakfast was so good! The beds were comfortable, and the rooms were quiet. The hostel is very eco-friendly, with cute little signs all over the hostel reminding guests to be eco-conscious. What that could have been better would be to have bath mats for the shower, as the water went everywhere... The hostel is a 15 minute walk into town, but a stones throw from the bus and train station. Besides a bit of water to clean up, I really enjoyed my stay at Hostel Celica.

The hostel is clean and modern and in a good location. Unfortunately, we had a very negative experience with a member of the bar staff because she refused to serve us drinks at 10:30pm because she was ‘too tired’ and it was ‘too late for her’. We were instead ‘told to have something more simple like a white wine’ which we did not want. We then walked away and were shouted at by the same bar lady. It ruined our experience and we won’t be returning.

Excellent hostel. I opted for a private room. it had a real prison feel. The bunk bed was very hight and precarious, but I managed it without incident. The bathrooms were fine and had hot water. The kitchens were clean and functional. All the usual hostel amenities, including a good breakfast. The location was great. 5 mi. walk to the train and bus stations and a slightly longer walk to the historic centre. At night the area around the hostel was super busy with partying people, loads of street art and music. Some people might find it off putting or too loud. I did not.

Stayed here in room 207 for 4 nights. Check in was quick and efficient as I had already booked and filled in my information online. The staff let me know about the setup and then gave me instructions to my dorm. My room was on the second floor and there's no lift. If you're not comfortable with stairs, then this place is going to be a problem. The dorm had four beds and a private ensuite. Two of the beds were bunk beds and there were two other singles. The door into the dorm has glass panels, which let light in. One of the singles faces the door and the hall lights come on automatically. Unfortunately, this was my bed. I hardly slept that first night, but the staff were kind enough to let me change beds. The dorm and bathroom were clean, and were cleaned everyday. The only weird part of the ensuite is that the hand basin is located outside of the bathroom. The upside is that you can use it even if someone is in the bathroom. There's also a hairdryer next to the sink. It works. Breakfast was included. Is fairly typical European fare with cheese slices, cold cuts, various types of cereals, juices and coffee. I thought it was about average by hostel standards. Location wise, it's about 10 minutes walk into the centre. The building is located in the Metelkova area. It does look dangerous on the maps, but I found it quite safe. It's an alternative lifestyle area, so there's a lot of "smoking" going on. The hostel also has a bar, a laundry room and a mini kitchen on the second floor (no microwave). The whole building is actually pretty clean. The staff are friendly and helpful. Overall, I had a good stay. If I hadn't been allowed to change beds, it would've been miserable.

To start, we LOVE LOVE LOVED Ljubljana and Slovenia!!! By far the best destination on our 6 week, 9 country, 20 city trip! Definitely recommend 100%! The hostel was okay, staff helpful and nice. The room was clean, aircon good, beds comfy and the room/cell situation was really interesting. Showers and toilets always free but because the windows were open all the time in the bathroom there were loads of tiny dead flies which was annoying. Breakfast was good, nothing crazy but lots of options. Location was close to the station and a little walk from the centre. We had a good stay, apart from the terrible terrible band they had playing one night. Bar that, it was a good place to stay whilst exploring this amazing place.

What can you say: this is just a great, unique budget place. The rooms are really small (we stayed in a four-bed room) but the beds are comfortable, everything was clean and we had our own bathroom. On the same floor as our room, there was a kitchen and a washing machine. I think it cost 10 euro to use it. In the old prison yard there now were nice tables and hammocks. We talked to several of the other guests, as you often do at hostels. The breakfast was really good for being a hostel with a lot of fruit and fresh bread. It is about 10 minutes walk to the city center, and 7 minutes from the train station. But don't miss the area around the hostel: "Ljubljana's Christiania". We stayed here for two nights, four people, and I think we payed 300 euro for that, including breakfast - in a European capital.
