The Cabin on the Hill features cottage style furnishings with a rustic twist. The flooring is a sustainable art paper floor featuring inlaid fall leaves from the property. Originally built by and home to a young Amish couple that moved to Minnesota with their growing family; we had the cabin moved to our farm on the foot of "the big hill" back in 2005 when we updated it to have electricity, appliances running water. We have an on-demand hot water system for limitless hot water, so feel free to fill the footed slipper tub and relax in the hot spring water or shower off after a day of hiking and then kick back in the oversized chair, the round cuddle couch, or the recliner in front of one of the electric fireplaces. Enjoy the remarkable sunsets overlooking Laurel Run Canyon from the top of the Big Hill. Enjoy the night sky, even the Milky Way, like through the veil of darkness only found in the remote night skies. Relax in front of the gas fire pit or slip into the hot tub for a relaxing soak. Welcome to the Cabin by the Pond, a hexagon A Frame cabin in the Hocking Hills at Laurel Springs Farm. Enter the cabin to a remarkable full wall of windows and wood slices that highlight the 28-foot towering A Frame. In addition to the structure itself, this cabin has many distinctive features including the first-floor suspended porch-swing style queen bed, a rolling bookcase door, a live-edge drop down dining table. There is even a large red slipper tub with rainfall shower that accents a repurposed slate wall. The cabin is complete with a fully equipped galley-style kitchen, stained concrete flooring throughout the first floor, sliding patio doors along with two sets of functional French doors with a third French door set as a backdrop for the suspended log bed. The reading area in the loft features Amish-built rockers from which you can watch the sunsets and a queen log bed. Guests will enjoy the fresh spring water drawn from the private multi-home spring water system heated by the on-demand hot water system. Outdoor features include the private round hot tub, park style charcoal grill set inside cultured stone, propane fire pit, front deck with built-in benches, patio table and seating and “Mom’s” flower garden. Turn off all burners when not in use.3. Clean grill after each use.4. Allow grill to cool before replacing cover.5. Cover grill.6. Please let us know if you run out of propane. We have a backup tank available.Hot Tub Guidelines1. Shower with soap and water before entering. (Excessive hot tub cleaning will result in a fine.)2. Do not bring glass in or near the hot tub.3. Do not set temperature higher than 104° or lower than 90°.4. Take care as you uncover/recover hot tub. Do not sit/stand on hot tub cover.5. Cover hot tub when not in use.6. Only guests ages 7 years and older may use the hot tub, and children must be supervised by an adult at all times.7. Do not put anything in the hot tub except for yourselves and/or swimwear. This includes bubble bath, soap, bath bombs, shampoo, lotion, toys, cans, food, etc.8. Elderly persons, pregnant women, and anyone with a health condition (including heart disease, diabetes, high/low blood pressure, etc.) should consult a physician before entering the hot tub.9. Do not use hot tub while under the influence of alcohol, narcotics, or any other medication that may cause drowsiness.10. Limit soak to 15 minutes and cool off before reentering.11. Water level MUST stay above jets. Please notify us immediately if water levels are getting low.Sauna Guidelines1. Shower with soap and water before entering.2. Not recommended for guests with cardiovascular or respiratory issues.3. Exit immediately if uncomfortable, dizzy, or lightheaded. Staying too long in a heated area will cause your body to overheat.4. Food, gum, beverages, glass, plastic, or metal items are prohibited. They will become burning hot to the touch.5. No children under 16 years of age allowed.6. Recommended use is a maximum of 10 minutes.7. Breathing heated air in conjunction with consumption of alcohol, drugs, or medication is capable of causing unconsciousness.8. Elderly persons, pregnant women, and anyone with a health condition (including heart disease, diabetes, high/low blood pressure, etc.) should consult a physician before entering the sauna.9. Do not use the sauna immediately after a full meal or rigorous exercise.10. Do not use alone.11.
