Travelodge Preston Chorley

I have stayed here a few times: breaking up the journey back north and allows an early start. Generally staying Sunday nights, quieter part of the week, I have never had any issues, but can imagine noise issues arising from other guests. I prefer upper floor room that overlooks the back (not car park side) . The room is standard Travelodge fare with a comfortable bed. Good for a budget stay and restaurant on site.

Don’t stay here. The bed was so painful I couldn’t sleep. There was poo in the toilet from the previous occupant. The ceiling was so this I could hear everything. The sheets had the perfume from previous guest. I got ill from staying here. The room smelled polluted.

I was placed in a rundown room with a broken window. Literally smashed. The handle was lying on the window sill and the window wouldn’t close. I was told it has been cleared for guests!! I refuser the room, because it was freezing and unsafe, but they said they didn’t have any others due to overbooking. How they can think that a room with a smashed window is fit to put a paying guest in is beyond me. Avoid this hotel at all costs. I have never, ever had a situation like this. Appalling. Woman on reception was nice but the overall customer service was awful. They didn’t care that I had no-where else to stay. Avoid avoid avoid.

The afternoon receptionist was very nice and both were helpful. My room, ground floor at the back was clean but needed a refurbishment, the bed was acceptable. However it was extremely noisy. Also, security was non existent and the entrance from the A6 on foot was dark, past the bins from Halfway House and frankly scary. I visit relatives 3 or 4 times a year and don't usually stay in the Travelodge. I thought I'd give it a try but won't be returning.
