The Kings Arms Hotel

The room was spacious and the bed was great! Staff were very friendly and responded immediately to any needs we had. Breakfast was yummy and complete. Located in a very central area in Christchurch, with easy to find shops, restaurants, and things to see. highly recommend.

Long time since I used BW,in the states,so I wan't expecting a great experience.Boy how things change,from the moment the booking was made,this hotel really is first class.The contact at the hotel Chantelle, on reception was really on her game,polite,booking was swift,response times amazing,and we were offered a chance to upgrade the room for a small fee which we did. Reception on arrival (Chantelle) cheerful and informative,and it just got better from there.We arrived early,the room had been cleaned so were fortunate enough to get entry earlier,(that is a big plus) champagne cocktail on the house on arrival,car parking good and easy.The room Priory,was fantastic, spacious with great views,immaculate preparation,super clean,bed massive and mega comfortable.She gave advice about local restaurants and directions,all very helpful.Breakfast was spot on,well cooked.We left feeling appreciated,(and gifted with 2 cookies for the journey),and having had a great time, which we did.Thank you!

We stayed here in 2023 and now last week ie August 2025. We noticed a difference with the Hotel no longer serving dinner but there are plenty of Restaurants in Christchurch. Our room was immaculate and we opted for continental breakfast which was adequate. Chantelle on reception was so helpful and a delight as was Rahul behind the bar who also helped me find a parking space. Being elderly we found the very deep bath difficult to exit with NOT one grab handle installed . The new owners are apparently going in another direction with this Hotel installing rooms where there could be a lounge plus a Whisky area where dinner used to be served. Mmmmmm I hope their plans don't spoil what was a nice Hotel.
