Fernhill House Hotel & Gardens

My sister got married in Fernhill on the 19th of July. I can not express enough how incredibly grateful we are to all the staff at Fernhill. They really made their whole wedding an unforgettable experience. They honestly went over and above. The weather could not have been worse but yet the day could not have been better and that was all down to the staff. Michael and the O’Neill brothers were amazing!!! It is a family business but they made us all feel like we were part of their family too. The venue was also beautiful and the food was gorgeous. Everyone is still talking about how delicious it was. It was exceptional. All in all I can not thank everyone enough or say enough how amazing every single aspect of fernhill is. If you are looking for a truly amazing wedding then you should definitely have it in Fernhill.

On arrival at Fernhill last week for a 2 night stay we decided to charge our electric car at the hotel car park. A car was parked at the dedicated electric bollard though it was not plugged in. The driver was sitting in the car. I politely asked him would he mind moving his car approx. 5 meters down to the adjoining vacant car space. He said no. I went back to my car again to tell my wife. Again I approached the car and asked the driver why he would not move his car as it was not plugged in and there was a empty car park space directly in front of him. He said 'I'm waiting for my son and I don't want him to get wet'. Eventually I got connected when I pulled in behind him on an unapproved gravel space. At that time his son came out and did his best to help us and apologised for his father's behaviour. Thereafter, we accidentally heard that the man in question was none other than the hotel owner a Mr. Ml. O'Neill. We could not belief what we were hearing which made a bad situation 10 times worse. This does not encourage us to have a repeat stay especially when it was spoiled by the owner. Peadar Wade

Fernhill just hosted our wedding and the job they did was absolutely stunning.Immaculate attention to detail and such care from the staff from start to finish. They listened and supported my wife and I during the whole planning process and were always approachable throughout,helping every step of the way.

We stayed for one night and our expectations were exceeded. The hotel is old fashioned but well maintained and spotlessly clean. We were greeted at check in with a smile and efficiency, which set the tone for every interaction with the staff, all of whom were friendly and professional. Our room was large with comfortable beds and good quality linens, a balcony and Handmade Soap Company toiletries. Breakfast was one of the best I've had in a hotel with a focus on high quality locks food. I highly recommend the homemade flapjacks. The gardens are beautiful, and oasis of calm just like the hotel.

Nice hotel just felt it didn’t deserve the high accolades of which I’d heard..
