South Beach Inn - Cocoa Beach

Amazing location, right on the beach. We had a ground floor room so no view. Surprisingly quiet given it is on a main road. Pleasant gardens and a nice vibe with the brightly painted exterior. Staff seemed pleasant. Some unpleasantries to be aware of though, the cupboards in our room were very unpleasant even though the rest of the room seemed very clean. Some aspects are in poor condition, including the bed (noisy) and the windows (some didn't lock). We wouldn't stay here again which is a pity because it has some unique and attractive qualities.

It is a old vintage Hotel with charm. Clean . Love the little Kitchen . The Futon was a bit uncomfortable need of a new cushions and the Bathroom needs a vent. I Liked the location very close to the beach that doesn't was crowded at all, just beautiful . I wished we could have stayed a bit longer.

Baby moon with my hubby working in town, 37 weeks pregnant, with two year old and 14 year old surfer son. Initial check in was fine, woman was fantastic and super happy to see us again, she knows us from prior paddle out event that we hosted on property and many small family trips to SBI. Rooms were same, outdated but the location is what makes this place so special so we overlook the room flaws. We kept extending our stay one night at a time because my son has friends in town and the beach is so relaxing but this seemed to piss off one staff enough to just be down right rude! Daniel, the staff member that seemed to be there the majority of the 5 days we were there, was just an awful interaction every time. When I checked in for our first extension he questioned my relationship with my husband, “is that really your husband or just your boyfriend?” Rudely because he cc was the one on file from the online booking but the reservation was in my name for check in but my card was presented for incidentals. Rude. When I told him that we had stayed before and had even hosted an event, he made a remark that I only had one other reservation in my name at that property, as to discredit that too. Then after checkout on the 5th day, hubby was working , checked out and told daniel that we were heading to the beach for the day at 11:00am, came back at 2:00 to the hammock shaded area and enjoyed lunch out of the sun, he approached and told me that they had another room available if we wanted to stay but we needed to wrap it up on property by 3:00 pm. Then asked again, where my husband was. What is with this guy?? Who treats people this way??? Does a 37 week pregnant woman, a two year old and a 14 old boy look like a good group of people to make uncomfortable? No where in any hotel policies does it state that we needed to evacuate the premises after check out. Was there a better way that he could have been trained to discuss any of the concerns with guests? He needs to be more aware that his behavior is offensive and if there are subjects that he needs to discuss with guests then he should speak with respect and care, that’s hospitality. Instead he treated us as squatters and trash. Questioning my marriage, my intentions, and all while we were paying guests was just plain rude. We will never return.

So glad I found this place! It's away from the crowds of Cocoa Beach but close enough for an easy drive if you want to check out stores and restaurants in that area. There are a few excellent restaurants within walking distance (less than 1 mile), too. I wanted to be away from crowds and at a place where I could easily walk from my room to the sand that led to the water. I also wanted a kitchen/kitchenette. This place fit the bill perfectly, my room was clean and the AC worked well. Unlike so many other motels/hotels in this area, you did not have to walk on decks or dunes to get to the water here. And, it is mostly a flat walk. Great spot for people that may have limited mobility (just make sure to ask for a room on the lower floor). You will not get a view of the ocean from lower floors but you also do not have stairs to contend with. Your door leads right out to a walkway to the beach or parking lot. I also liked that there was a guest laundry. Do not be turned off by how the washing machines look on the outside. The insides are clean and they worked well for me. Some reviews state that it is overpriced. I did not think it was, considering the location and the fact that there was a full kitchen in my room. I would definitely stay here again.

We loved it here. It is so close to the beach, the garden, the benches, the hammock, the view were all perfect. I loved the colour of the building too, especially during sunrise/sunset. Remember it is a budget motel, so the amenities are outdated and it could do with a lick of paint. However it kind of adds to the charm. We walked along the beach to the main town and an evening stroll home. Highly recommended

Adorable “vintage type” motel. I loved the futon and the bed in “separate” rooms (I wake up early!). The kitchenette was just right for our brief stay! The proximity to the beach was perfect. We enjoyed A launch at night and sunrise the next day! Yes.the bathroom could be freshened up, but it was clean,water pressure was strong etc. The front desk personnel was friendly and professional. Will return for sure!!
