Room was high quality and clean. Service was good. Challenges were very spotty wifi and soap and shampoo dispensers that would not work.

This hotel was disappointing right away because there was no parking for checkin. The lady at the front desk struggled to find our reservation. The room was small and the bed was small, for a king, and hard. Breakfast was delicious but had to wait awhile.

The Mining Exchange Hotel is beautiful and well maintained. It smells lovely too! The rooms are large and beautifully decorated. Food options at the Blk Mgc coffee shop are eclectic and not too my taste, but my husband ate there and Service was slow. We ate at ORO for dinner and the food was delicious and ambiance was very nice. However, they keep it cold in there--ladies, wear pants and bring a sweater.

Our family booked a night’s stay at the Mining Exchange for our mother’s funeral at the US Air Force Academy. The morning of the funeral, as we were preparing to head to C. Springs, my mother’s granddaughter unexpectedly had a massive seizure and ended up in an ambulance suffering from 2nd and 3rd degree burns as a result of collapsing on her hot curling iron. We called the hotel immediately, in tears, to cancel and gave our reasons. We offered that we would rebook with them once we had rescheduled the funeral. They were unwilling to give us a credit, refund or discount on a future stay - nothing. I find this disgusting and will never patronize nor recommend this type of establishment.

This hotel is a joke. My husband and I pre-booked a room well in advance of a family reunion. We booked it non-refundable because we were 100% committed to the trip. We decided to stay at the Mining Exchange because we wanted to be downtown within walking distance to restaurants and shops. Upon arrival, despite receiving a confirmation email earlier that day, we were told the hotel was oversold and that we had been rebooked at another hotel 15 minutes away (that was basically the equivalent of a motel). There was no apology and no compensation other than a refund of the original amount we paid for the room (which was owed to us because they were not providing us any room). We were also told by the manager that the "motel" they rebooked us at was the ONLY hotel room they could find in all of Colorado Springs on this particular night. I argued that there was no way they called every hotel in all of Colorado Springs, to which she replied she had (a blatant lie). Within 5 minutes, I called the Garden of the Gods Resort and was told there were rooms available. Unbelievable! We demanded they they not only rebook us there, but that they cover our first night stay for the inconvenience. Technically, they should have covered the entire stay, but it was late and we were desperate to resolve the situation. Overall, this was an hour + long experience, debating with the management, fighting for their cooperation and customer service. Upon checkout of the Garden of the Gods, we discovered they did not cover the first night stay, as they said they would, and we were stuck with the entire charge. This experience was a complete disruption to our trip and it is unbelievable to me that a hotel would rebook you without an apology and compensate with only a refund of a room that they did not provide. If you are looking for an incredible stay with top-notch service, book your stay at the Garden of the Gods Resort or the Broadmoor. It is worth the extra price to be treated well and know that your reservation is confirmed when you arrive after a long travel day.
