D'Angleterre, Copenhagen

An absolutely stunning hotel, in a great location and with fantastic stuff. We had a great stay but there were a couple of things that could do with improvements. I will start with the good: - Beautiful hotel, and we got upgraded to a suite on the fourth floor that was spacious, impeccably clean and had amazing views over the square. - Delightful staff, everyone was really nice and no request was a problem. - The breakfast buffet is really good. - A really good gym in the basement, with modern, well kept machines and free water and snacks. Things where it could improve: - We had communicated to the hotel that we would arrive early in Copenhagen. They said check in is at 3pm but they would try to have the room ready earlier if possible. We arrived at 11am, room wasn't ready so we went for a nice walk and brunch. Came back at 1:30pm and were told that the room was almost ready so we settled in the lobby with some tea. At 3pm we watched a bit of a stampede of guests to the rooms and at the same time we received a text welcoming us to the hotel. I went to reception and then they gave me the key. It was very clear that they just checked everyone in at 3pm no matter what, and they could just have said that beforehand and we would have adjusted our plans accordingly. - We incorrectly assumed breakfast was included. When we got home and went through the bill we saw this was not the case. Not a big deal, except that £75 per head per day is quite steep for breakfast and given that this is not a cheap hotel, I would usually expect breakfast to be included like most other 5 star hotels do. So all in all, I do recommend the hotel because it is lovely and the staff are fabulous, but there is room for improvement in their operations.

This is considered the one of the best hotels in Denmark, if not Scandinavia. As befits its reputation, service was excellent. The hotel is a little stuffy, the seating area and restaurant furnishings look like something out of the 19th century, I think they6 could definitely use a refresh. We were upgraded to a suite, which was spacious, comfortable and beautiful. Best coffee I had in Sweden or Denmark, hands down. We could hear the TV pretty clearly in the room next door, so even the best of hotels have their flaws – in this case, inadequate soundproofing. But we enjoyed our stay at this luxurious property, right in the heart of Copenhagen.

When I was using a different card to pay, the hotel system charged to the holding credit card twice the amount and refunded twice which resulted in FX losses. The other credit card used to pay is also charged twice. Waiting for the hotel to remedy and such practices have never been encountered with any 5 star hotels.

All was good until I got a charge on minibar when I was on a plane home. When I got home ( my country ), I wrote an email to ask what charge was on my minibar and I gotten a prompt reply that it was DIPTYQUE LOTION which was part of minibar. But the thing is that I didn't use any of their lotion or consume anything from their minibar. I asked for picture and then no more reply from them. Paying the money is not an issue for me but to pay for something I didn't consume is not acceptable. So be careful when you check out next time, make sure all is clear before you leave the Hotel else you may end up like me.

Un hôtel de luxe situé sur la Kongens Nytorv, qui permet de bénéficier d'un emplacement privilégié. Cadre élégamment décoré mais il règne néanmoins une ambiance froide. Personnel professionnel mais peu concerné par les clients. Dommage.

We were very fortunate to get reservations in the hotel over Christmas. The hotel was beautifully decorated inside and outside. After checking in, we were taken to our room. It was spacious and lacked nothing. There was a large sitting area with fruit and pastries on the table to welcome us, a large walk in closet, and an equally large bedroom. The room had a full bath and a powder room, robes and slippers, a safe, and a spectacular view looking over the ice skating rink. Special surprises were left in our room each evening. The hotel was very quiet and the bed was very comfortable. It was a short walk to shopping and restaurants. When in Copenhagen I would recommend staying at this hotel.
