Thalassa Boutique Hotel & Spa

visited this hotel with a group of friends in June 2025, and I can honestly say it exceeded all our expectations. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with warm smiles and smooth check-in service. The atmosphere was incredibly peaceful,exactly what we needed to unwind. Whether we were lounging by the pool or enjoying a quiet morning coffee on the balcony, the surroundings were calm and serene. The hotel itself was spotlessly clean. Every space, from the lobby to the rooms, felt fresh and well maintained. Housekeeping did a fantastic job each day, and the attention to detail really made a difference in our overall comfort. There was also no shortage of entertainment. Whether it was live music in the evening,or simply exploring the nearby attractions, we were never bored.The hotel offered just the right balance of relaxation and fun. All in all, this was a perfect trip. If you’re looking for a clean, peaceful place to recharge with friends while still having plenty to do this hotel is it. We’re already planning our next stay!

Beautiful surroundings but in the middle of nowhere

First of all, the staff. Everyone is very nice, smiling and very helpful. We have never met such nice service. Greetings to Mrs. Natalia, the animator, who greeted guests for dinner every evening and did not refuse to help anyone. No one forces tips and literally throughout the week there was not a single unpleasant situation with the staff. The food, sensational. We have been to several good hotels and nowhere else has there been such a variety and quality of food. Of course, apart from breakfasts, because they are the same every day, but also delicious. Lunch and dinner are something different and delicious every day. It is a pity that a person only has one stomach, because you could not try everything. I dare say that the food in the restaurant was generally better than in the "a la carte" one. Although I would give a lot for the ceviche from the "a la carte" to try it again. The surroundings are divine. The hotel is situated on a bay with a sandy beach, which is so attractive that boats come from other hotels so that guests can swim in the bay, but there are no crowds. The water is warm and clean in June. The room is not the newest and not too big, but clean and quite sufficient for a couple. All rooms have a sea view. Our room was on the lowest level and additionally we had a terrace with a lawn and sun loungers instead of a balcony. A big plus for "adults only", because it means peace and quiet in the restaurants, bars and by the pool. Minuses that do not change our delight with this hotel. The first minus was the location of our room (no. 106). It was located on the lowest level, right next to the technical rooms and in the evenings you could hear slight noises, something like dragging sunbeds or tables across the floor. Sometimes (about three times during the stay) you could feel a slight smell of sewage. The second is the seaweed washed up by the sea, near the hotel. They stink a bit and you had to walk a little further, but that's not the hotel's fault, because all beaches in Cyprus are public.

We had a one week stay in this ”great” adult-only hotel (maybe it was great when it started as a hotel in early 90s) To state that it is a  haven of luxury with exquisite bedrooms , that that it was fully renovated in 2017 and the 9/10 rating on their website is not true to reality. To sum it up, unpleasant room, noisy a/c, stains on bed and furniture, dated worn off furniture, bad value for money. We asked for a quiet clean nice room, as we kindly requested this before we arrived, and as was  priced and promoted. In room 530, holiday was adversely affected due to very noisy airconditioning and unbearably mouldy smell coming form the A/C  grill/ducts. When you stopped the air conditioning, there was a rambling sound coming from outside (possibly from the machines’ room underneath, as the visible exhaust vent in the outside wall indicated).  The double glazed windows are very old  and do not reduce the noise at all. If you are a light sleeper forget about the pool side bedrooms.  Same thing may apply to interconnecting rooms. Until we got to 530, we changed 2 rooms(1st interconnecting room, 2nd smelly raw sewage smell) and  then the hotel manager ran out of options, as we did not want interconnecting rooms. Most rooms are interconnecting rooms with the interconnecting doors walled up with plasterboard and maybe some insulation inbetween, when you knock them they sound hollow. The local staff said that you could hear noise in the next room if the tourists speak a little louder. We had a bad experience in Paris with this type of rooms and did not want to take a chance. The dated furniture was very unpleasant to look at and felt very cheap. There were plenty of nasty whitish stains on the bed headboard and other type of  stains on the wardrobe doors, probably from body creams/powders. The hotel beach stretches along  approx. 10 pairs of lounging chairs and umbrellas, which we used almost every day. This area is not adult only, as it is being used by kids as well. We were informed that only the lounging chairs are adult only, the sand and the water aren’t, so they can be used by kids. On the plus side for us, the breakfast was plenty and good enough, as we opted only for this meal and some beach bar grills, which were good as well. We did not use the pool nor the spa. We asked the receptionist for a chat with the hotel manager at the end of our stay, for all the inconvenience and the less than a 3-star experience, however Mr Tripp was too busy (“in a meeting”) to have this chat and he was probably fed up with our complaints and with his  impossibility to resolve them. There is so much you can do without adequate and timely funding of renovation works. However, his  friendly attitude is laudable, the same goes for all hotel staff. We visited with my girl friends for a long weekend, and had an amazing experience. The room was spotless, the staff were incredibly friendly, and the spa services were top-notch. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel for your next travel adventure! Also the location of the hotel at the Coral bay is a bonus since the beach is one of the best in Cyprus

Thalassa is far more than just an hotel—it is a space that uplifts and nourishes both the senses and the soul. Our stay, shared with my wife and filled with the hotel’s unique atmosphere, restored our inner balance and allowed us to truly unwind. The culinary experience exceeded all expectations—the dishes served were masterful, deserving of Michelin stars.
