We had such a great experience here the staff were absolutely lovely, especially Medo and Sherpa, these two were always there to help and make sure we had the best time! Overall everything was amazing, high quality food, great room and pool. You could have a great holiday without even leaving the resort

My husband and I stayed at the Cali Resort and Spa for a 10 night break. Impressions overall were very good. Friendly staff in all areas and the room immaculately clean. We did encounter a few problems with the room (safe needed a battery, shower flooded bathroom and the fridge did not appear to be working) but this was sorted out extremely quickly by being moved to another room. Reception staff were very efficient and quick to offer solutions. For the inconvenience of having to move rooms, we were compensated by being sent a bottle of champagne and fruit platter which demonstrated their level of customer satisfaction. The food was lovely, always hot and refreshed continually. Plenty of choice and this also can be said for the wine offered in the restaurant (not just house wine). The mini fridge was restocked daily with juices, beers and water. The evening entertainment was enjoyable and varied. Hotel also offered Pool service which was good. Sunbeds were always available (probably down to time of year). Courtesy room on checkout was excellent with no time limit for use. Overall a great hotel which we would be happy to revisit and recommend.

Beautiful stylish hotel We arrived just before midnight We had a very warm welcome from the reception team who explained where things were and showed us to the room We had some sandwiches left in the room along with some prosecco and a birthday cake which was a lovely touch The room was small but very nice with everything you needed, very small balcony, lovely Fredrick malle toiletries in the bathroom The food in the restaurant was very repetitive and sometimes lukewarm warm, there wasn’t a great deal of choice we didn’t speak to the manager who kindly offered to cook us something else, we declined but appreciated the offer The pool is a lovely area but lacked atmosphere, there would be room in the grounds for a second pool maybe with a swim up bar and some music would be good. Expect Sunbed wars in the morning, there is a security guard and you can’t place a towel on the beds before 8am, then it’s a race to get the best beds not what you expect in a 5* resort and some people are early risers and would like a bed before 8am The pool waiters work hard but there isn’t enough staff, I’d say at least once a day we would order drinks that never turned up, we ended up using the inside bar which was easier than waiting for waiter service The spa was lovely but would of liked the gym to be open longer hours We had a couples massage, it was amazing the best massage I’d ever had This hotel could be amazing with better food and service

I’ll get the negatives out of the way before finishing on the high notes. 1. Sunbed wars. There are always some people who spoil it for others by reserving beds and not using them for hours. Sadly management enforced a new rule which enraged many people. Basically, nobody is allowed to sit or go anywhere near a Sunbed until after 8am. So now, people queue/amass before 8 and start running for the beds once the security guard gives the ok 🙄 2. No drinks are allowed to be sipped in the pool or even whilst sat on the side of the pool. Only whilst at your sunbed. Otherwise, the lifeguard has a word with you. However, not all lifeguards seem to have read the memo, or simply don’t like confrontation. 3. No ball games/ throwing games in the pool of any kind 4. Beds are very close together so ‘chasing the sun’ is generally a no go. 5. Drinks service is sporadic. Waiters never ask you if you want a drink. They speed past the end of your bed and if you are lucky enough to grab their attention then you just might get one. Or, you might order one but then it doesn’t arrive 🙄 6. Only one poolside ladies toilet cubicle was working for the 14 days of my stay. 7. People smoke in non smoking areas which is rarely addressed. 8. Bar staff and waiters are not consistent in what drinks are available. 9. Buffet food for me personally was not warm enough and you did need to watch out for a few flies sometimes around the salads. 10. More trained staff are needed to maintain service levels everywhere 11. Minibar refills and water bottle replacement was irregular High Notes 😀 1. Cleanliness of all areas 2. Rooms well appointed & nicely decorated. Coffee machine and complimentary toiletries a nice touch 3. Japanese Fusion restaurant 4. Size of main pool with fresh pool towels provided daily 5. Staff generally good but more required 6. (Mainly, but not always) Premium standard spirits and quality wine Although personally I would not return to this hotel I do believe that many of the above issues will be overcome in time. The manager understood that guests were unhappy with certain problem areas and he discussed ours with us face to face one evening. He said that he welcomed the criticism in order for him to rectify concerns effectively.

We have had a lovely week. The hotel is very clean, beautiful. The rooms are really well put together and clean as can be. The food was veggies was good. Would have liked sone more dishes that were veggie friendly with protein. Staff are second to none. Very friendly, smiley and cannot do enough for you. Sherpa, Smita, rajesh, Chandra, puja, Sita, Adam, kamal. To name a few. Ahmed, nylia to name a few at reception. Ok now for the areas I feel could do with sone attention. Spa - no amenities in the showers. We booked 5 treatments. I expect sone amenities. The beach is a 5 mins walk in the heat this is unbearable. Roads are uneven and quite a steep decline to reach the beach. Not for those who want a beach on the door step. This is not a beach resort. Most are couples. Lots of older people who basically sit around the pool all day. DONOT come with young people in the family. Guests generally from the UK. Not so friendly unless you yourself are white. Sorry for saying this. I felt it and so did my family. Hotel staff are amazing and the hotel is lovely. Please come and stay if you are a couple, older or white.
