Holiday Inn Coralville - Iowa city

Tina was the most kind hostess! After a long road trip, she took care of my pup and I. She was such a friendly face and person to anchor in for the night.

Walking into the lobby of this Radisson, a nasty smell smacked us in the face. When we got to our room, it reeked of mildew! The carpet was nasty. The lamp shade was broke on one of the lamps and was hanging crooked. The "guide button" on the TV remote didn't work. The button on the phone to call the front desk didn't work. The pillows were totally flat. When we asked the front desk for a couple more pillows, they said "I don't know if we have anymore pillows". Really??? What hotel doesn't keep extra pillows on hand? But the worst part of all was we had an unexpected visitor in our bed (see photo). Yes, it's a brown recluse spider. We were there for less than an hour before we moved over to the Drury Inn. I can't believe we were going to be charged $130 for that dump of a hotel. Don't waste your time or money. I really hope others who stay there, don't get bit by a brown recluse. Where this is one spider, there are usually many. They need to call an exterminator. But if they won't pay to fix a broken lamp shade, they surely won't pay for an exterminator. I give this crap hole a negative 100 stars.

The updated rooms and bathrooms were great.
