Sea Villa

Sea Villa is a wonderful accommodation, base for visiting the Beara, and destination unto itself. We had originally booked for two nights and enjoyed our stay so much that we altered our plans so that we could stay two more days. This was our most memorable accommodation during a month in Ireland. The elements that contribute to the top rating cover the board: comfort, cleanliness, food, location, and most notably—hospitality. Mary and John own and run the B&B and are two of the finest, most engaging folks that we have met in years of staying at small inns/B&Bs. The breakfasts and suppers were excellent (John was harvesting fresh mussels while we were there). They had great suggestions for hikes, other dining options, and activities. The location is a lovely rural setting near the sea, on the Beara Way just outside of Ardgroom, and easy driving to Dursey and Bere Islands and other towns and sites of interest. Oh, and not to be missed is the local pub in Ardgroom, the Village Inn, with a warm fireplace, cozy setting, and great local conversation. We do recommend the seaside hikes right out of the B&B.

Sea Villa is the best B/B that we have ever visited. Beautifully situated near Ardgroom Harbour near Allihies and Eyeries and a short drive to Castletownbere and Kenmare. The rooms are beautifuuly furnished and very comforable . We were lucky to have a patio door leading to the garden and car park. The hosts, Mary and John, were so welcoming, informative and hospitable. We had a beautiful, dry fried Irish breakfast most mornings but there were so many choices, including salmon. John fishes locally so we availed of fresh mussels served with garlic and locally sourced delicious brown bread. There were nightly drinks left for each guest in the rooms...lovely surprise ! and lunch / evening/ beverages and evening meals available on request.. Highly recommendable .... Our room and bathroom were spotless. It was a great place to stay. Mary and John took great care of the place and made our stay a wonderful experience. The place was great but the best part of our stay was the breakfast in the morning. Mary and John were a great host as not only was our breakfast delicious but the information they shared about the area was very interesting as well. Im Rahmen einer Wanderrundreise waren wir einen Tag bei Mary und John. Wir können die Unterkunft nur wärmstens empfehlen. Die Gastgeberqualitäten sind unübertroffen gut. Die Unterkunft liegt in einer landschaftlich fantastischen Umgebung. Sie ist nicht nur sauber und gemütlich, sondern auch bis ins Detail hervorrangend stylistisch ausgestattet. Mary und John lassen keine Wünsche offen, sind sehr aufmerksam, freundich, präsent und humorvoll. Das Menue war vorzüglich und wurde uns im Rahmen eines "candle light dinners" serviert. Auch das Frühstück war hervorragend. Es fehlen die Worte, um den superschönen Aufenthalt zu beschreiben. Wir sagen herzlichsten Dank und kommen auf jeden Fall wieder. On our walk on the Beara Way, we found shelter from the storm and rain by the lovely Irish Jon and Mary. They welcomed us warmly and cordially. For dinner thy fed us with very tasty prepared dishes, and we got freshly caught mussels from Jons musselfarm. The two of them are extremely warm-hearted and friendly and take the best of care of you. After an amazing night in fluffy beds, we got a rich and freshly prepared breakfast and a lunch for the continuing walk. They will definitely stay in our heads and hearts with their warmth manner.

Wat een fantastische plaats om te verblijven!Na vorig jaar hier overnacht te hebben,voelde ik me verplicht terug te keren.Dit is met grote voorsprong de beste B&B waar ik ooit verbleven heb.(geloof me,ik heb er al vele bezocht) De eigenaars John en Mary verwennen je tot in de puntjes…De kamers zijn kraaknet,zéér mooi ingericht en hebben zicht op een prachtig landschap. Het ontbijt en avondeten zijn ongeëvenaard! John nam me mee op zijn mosselboot wat een zeer leuke en leerrijke ervaring was!Ook toonde hij tal van verborgen plekjes waarvan ik even stil en sprakeloos was…John en Mary zijn zulke warme en lieve mensen dat ik het emotioneel moeilijk had om afscheid te nemen… Wil je absolute rust op een unieke locatie,al moet je er 100 km.voor omrijden,niet twijfelen..Doen! Zeker tot volgend jaar! John,Mary,Bedankt voor het nooit te vergeten verblijf!
