Zuri resort has some good things. The hotel and rooms are nice. The pools are nice. The hotel is clean. However the service overall was not that great. Front desk staff are not very nice. Very snobbish. It’s like we are a bother to them. Waiters in their restaurant were nice but the service is so slow and because they wait until all of your food is prepared before bringing it out, most of it comes out cold. So make sure to order something on a sizzling plate if you want hot food! Breakfast buffet looked great but the taste was below average. Oh and the website advertises “an illustrious view of coron bay,” but if you have a room on the first floor like room 106, you have an illustrious view of the green roof top of another building and if you tip toe you can see some of the bay. I spoke with my family members at the end of our stay (25 of us stayed there) and they all agreed that the lack of customer service was a big turn off. Just my family alone had 4 rooms. We asked for a 1pm
Checkout (regular checkout is 12pm). At first they said no. I informed them we have 4 rooms, we have booked transportation to the airport from your hotel to be picked up at 1pm and you can’t give us even one room for late checkout? That is the only time they agreed. I was firmly told “only one.” (You may ask why do we need a 1pm
Checkout? Because it is hot and humid and the lobby does not have air conditioning. Other families that couldn’t get late checkout packed it in the game room which started to get warm with too many people. Some went to the cafe that had air conditioning and soon no more seating was available.) Did they start cleaning any of the 3 rooms my family occupied by the time we left our one room that had late checkout? No. We were all next door to each other and no cleaning carts were in the hallway. At the very end when checking out I was asked if I made sure I didn’t leave anything behind. She then told me “because we don’t do any room checks.” At a previous hotel a staff member knocked on our van door as we were about to leave to give us something we left behind. Now THAT is great customer service. One more thing…when I was booking I originally submitted a request online through their website for a family room. Then I emailed to ask how many family rooms they have and if any are available for my dates. I was told there were 5 available. Then I received a rejection of my booking request. I emailed back and asked how was my booking request rejected when I sent it BEFORE the email that told me 5 rooms were available? Their response was that they now have 2 available. At this point they lost my trust. But I had no choice but to stay there since the rest of the family was. So I booked through a third party that I trusted.
