SBH Fuerteventura Playa

I will try my best to be honest. Am I recommending this hotel or will go again?? Definitely not ,will explain why. There were positive points in staffs who were friendly. But negative points so many thins to talk about them. First of all we had to wait more than 2 hours of check in time to get our room. Reception staff had no idea when rooms will be available. And it was not just us there were 5-7 families were waiting same as us. We were 3 people but there were 2 pillows we had to wait more than 4 hours for another pillow. Room services you should go to reception and asked not just once at least 3-4 times so you could have empty bins at least. For pool you must go 6 am to reserve otherwise no chance to have space to use pool. This hotel is not clean and it s too old, uncomfortable beds, dirty toilets which were close to the pool, no bins with lid in women toilets so dirty pads everywhere in toilets,corridors’s carpet too old and dirty. Most of the walls were mouldy even in the restaurant. Drinks were okay, Foods were too much but quality was too bad. First half an hour of each eating time was okay but after that still too much food but in conditions that you wouldn’t feel good to eat. Most of the food like: chicken, meat even had not been cooked properly.

We came to Fuerteventura with big excitement, as it was the only Canary Island we hadn’t visited yet. Sadly, choosing SBH Fuerteventura Playa completely ruined the start of our holiday. From the outside, the building looks like an old boarding house, more like a horror movie set than a hotel. Inside, the carpets are dirty and worn, the corridors smell like a mix of toilet and vomit, and dirty plates and glasses are left outside the rooms. Our room was poor. The TV didn’t work, and in the children’s room there was no main light, only two bedside lamps one of which was broken. One evening when we returned late, we found our hotel locked from the inside and couldn’t get in. A very unfriendly woman had to come and unlock it for us. The restaurant was terrible. Dirty tables and dishes that no one clears, no air conditioning, flies landing on the food and even cockroaches walking around the buffet. The food choice was very small: a few salads (some already spoiled), meat overcooked until it was like stone, chips full of old oil, and desserts limited to two small cakes and bad ice cream. Often the same food was served again the next day. There was nothing proper for vegetarians and the same tongs were used for meat, fish and salad. Our children refused to eat here after the first few days, which says a lot. The only things OK were the grilled fish and some fruits. The toilets under reception were disgusting, you can see broken doors, blocked urinals, dirt everywhere and wires hanging from a broken hand dryer. Reception was a disaster. Staff didn’t care, were rude and didn’t know what they were doing. We tried to book one of the themed dinners, and for three days we were sent away with “come back later”. No organisation at all. We only found out by chance, overhearing another guest, that you could buy wristbands to use the all inclusive in other SBH hotels. Reception never told us. First they said there were none, but later a different worker gave us the "last two ?" wristbands. Thanks to that, we spent the rest of our time in SBH Monica Beach Resort, which was amazing, and came back to Fuerteventura Playa only to sleep. Our kids called this place “the cave”. The bar staff acted like giving you a drink was a favour. They looked annoyed when you ordered something and treated guests with arrogance and rudeness. The tiles around the pool were broken and dangerous, and not only there. One night we saw sharp metal and nails sticking out on small bridge above an empty channel, which was also full of broken glass. Nobody cleaned it. Any child running there could easily cut themselves badly. At least 13 photos on the booking website were not from this hotel. They use pictures from other SBH hotels and nicer beaches to trick people. The reality here is nothing like the photos. One of the lifts was very dangerous, the ceiling had fallen down, wires were hanging out, and there was no warning sign. We even stopped another guest from walking in without notic

Don’t be misled by negative reviews. We just returned from 10 days here. We had lovely room with great air con. Cleaned regularly and towels changed The restaurant had a great choice of food, both hot and cold The staff worked hard replenishing all the time ,and relaying fresh tables very quickly. The bar was busy and hot inside, would benefit from more chairs outside. The pool was clean and there are broken tiles around which need fixing. Mind your footing. The animation team put on fun activities in the pool which many enjoyed. There were not enough sun beds, but are there ever? We used the local beaches , it is rocky by the hotel but only a short distance away is sandy. The hotel is generally a little tired but we had a great time here.

El hotel en general en lamentable. Las fotos propias del hotel no se corresponden con la realidad. Las instalaciones están super deterioradas, los azulejos rotos, la piscina sucia, las hamacas y las silla rotas, el baño de la piscina roto, las zonas comunes sucias, los enchufes rotos y con riesgo de electrocución. Las habitaciones sucias y súper viejas, el mobiliario roto, el baño sucio y antiguo. Pero lo peor la comida, hay tanta suciedad en el comedor que es imposible que pase una inspección de sanidad

Sporco, la moquette del corridoio, originariamente azzurra è marrone per il lerciume. Le camere potrebbero essere molto meglio, hanno bisogno di una rinfrescata. A mio avviso se si facesse una chiusura per pulizie profonde, cambio moquette, ripristino cose varie rotte potrebbe riaqustare un antico fasto. Il ristorante, non ho avuto problemi intestinali, pasta schifosa e riso spesso scotto, palatabilita terribile. Non è un 4 stelle

Reservé dos habitaciones en todo incluido desde el 16 a 24 de agosto de 2025, 3 adultos y 2 niños. Hemos estado solo dos noches y hemos abandonado el hotel porque las condiciones higiénicas y sanitarias del Hotel son lamentables. El estado en que se encuentran tantos las instalaciones, zonas comunes, piscinas,.. es de tal deterioro y falta de mantenimiento durante años que hacen que el hotel no sea seguro para estar en el. Las habitaciones son tan antiguas y el mobiliario tan deteriorado, que hacen que revivas épocas del pasado, pero eso no es lo peor, el estado de suciedad, llenas de pelos y polvo por todos lados cuando nos las entregaron. El mobiliario de la habitación y el cuarto de baño están super deteriorados. Y por último mención especial al buffet. Las condiciones en las que estaba ese comedor y la comida fue digna de que al segundo día fui diagnosticado en el servicio de urgencias de una gastroenteritis aguda. Soy Canario y llevo toda mi vida yendo a hoteles de Canarias y como este ninguno. La ausencia de mantenimiento hace que el hotel se encuentra en una situación lamentable y poco segura para los huéspedes y la calidad de la comida es tan baja y la falta de limpieza tan grande que existe realmente un riesgo en materia de salud pública. Les aconsejo que no gasten ni un euro en ese hotel. Pero yo que suelo leer los comentarios de los hoteles, lo mejor es que ustedes lo vean con las fotos.
