Our check-in experience started on a positive note: friendly, welcoming staff who were more than happy to assist, even offering to carry our bags to the room. Unfortunately, the initial good impression quickly faded once we settled in. Upon entering our room, we were immediately struck by the lack of cleanliness: dusty fixtures, cobwebs, clumps of hair on the floor, and a dirty bathroom plughole. While we initially chose to overlook these issues, things took a turn for the worse after using the shower. The bathroom flooded, and we had to call reception. To their credit, the staff responded quickly, apologized sincerely, and moved us to a new room without fuss. The second room was a noticeable improvement: spacious, modern, with a comfortable king-size bed and large windows. However, by this point, our expectations of a 5-star experience had already taken a hit. The highlight of our stay was the breakfast. The variety and quality were exceptional, offering everything from a full English to a continental buffet. The food was delicious and well-presented, and this part truly lived up to the five-star label. As we prepared to leave, we encountered several staff and maintenance workers in the hallways. While most were polite, the cleaning staff seemed disinterested and inattentive, a stark contrast to the professionalism shown by other employees and even the workmen, who were more proactive in helping us navigate blocked pathways. In summary, this hotel did not meet our expectations for a five-star experience. Cleanliness and staff training, especially in housekeeping, are areas in urgent need of attention. The food service is a standout, but it’s not enough to justify the overall price and reputation. Regrettably, I wouldn’t return. There are better options in the area with more consistent service and better value for money.
