The Westin St. Thomas Beach Resort & Spa

The place is wonderful ! Hotel has a mix of luxury and comfort that is hard to find . Great restaurants , bars , lounge areas with great views and excellent food , few cozy swimming pools and amazing, sandy beaches with turquoise water . Rooms are exceptionally clean and all staff is so helpful and friendly . From start to finish , the hotel management made us feel at home . Special thanks for Mr. Frank Witte for his hospitality and professionalism . Highly recommend and definitely we'll be back !

If it was for cats roaming around the hotel it would be a 5. It is beautiful and inviting. It is one thing to be pet friendly and allow people to bring pets. It is another thing to have stray cats roaming around in the lobby, drinking out of the pool and harassing diners. It is absolutely terrible.

The property itself is beautiful, with stunning scenery, but unfortunately our overall experience was very disappointing. Upon arrival, the first room we were sent to was not correct. The second room was not the ocean view we paid for, and the third room didn’t have working air conditioning—only a floor fan—and had a strong smell of mold. We were finally placed in a fourth room, but even then, the issues continued. The shower knob was loose and falling off, and the mounted shampoo and conditioner bottles constantly fell from the wall. The rooms we saw did not reflect the updated showers and features shown online. The pools were also in poor condition. The infinity pool had mold along the wall, and all of the white chairs in the pool had visible scum on them, which made it unappealing to use. What made the situation worse was that throughout all of these mix-ups, not once did anyone at the resort offer an apology. The service overall was not great. When we went to the Salt Shack, the hostesses even suggested we go somewhere else because service was slow and the new menu wasn’t good. Waiting over 15 minutes for the valet to bring our car was another frustration. For a Westin property, the lack of customer service, poor maintenance, and overall cleanliness were very disappointing. The scenery is beautiful, but the experience did not come close to the standard we expected.

Keiyra at the front desk welcome me with a smile and was quick to accommodate. Stop at the Luna Mar restaurant and ask for Xavier, his smile is contagious and he'll specialize your drinks. Thank you Xavier for having my glass of wine ready after a long day at work✝️

The Westin exceeded our expectations from our first step into the breathtaking lobby with its neutral coastal theme. Our check in experience was seamless, and welcoming. Our dining experiences were flawless and allowed for true relaxation . Nicole at Luna Mar is the gem of this resort! She was friendly, kind and engaging. Her suggested food and drink pairings made our mouths water !! Overlooking the pool and ocean while relaxing with afternoons drinks she shared travel tips and helped us have a great adventure on St John !

We found the Westin to be a fantastic place to stay. The accommodations were clean and comfortable, featuring standard Westin features (e.g., fluffy pillows and plush comforters). They also provided reusable water bottles in the room, with water dispensers conveniently available in the lobby and fitness areas. The resort staff were mostly friendly and helpful. Dining experiences at Salt Shack, Luna Mar, and Sand Bar were all outdoor with stunning ocean views. Salt Shack was by far our favorite, though we did encounter some menu item shortages across the restaurants. Additionally, the menu online at Luna Mar didn’t match what was available upon arrival which was disappointing. Prices across all restraurants are on the higher side, but seem to be typical for island resorts—for example, bottled water was $10, cocktails around $20, and entrees averaged $30. Also they were cashless and payment needed to placed on the room or a credit card. Getting to the airport was easy and inexpensive—about $20 per person with gratuity, arranged by the hotel. We also enjoyed a Lime Out boat excursion, which I highly recommend. It cost around $150 per person but offered a full day of fun with two snorkel stops, an open bar with snacks, and lunch—all along with towels, conditioner, and SPF provided on the boat. While the resort has several pools, we spent most of our time on the beach, where towels and lounge chairs were readily available. Overall, we had a fantastic experience at the Westin St. Thomas and I would definitely recommend.
