Sandals Royal Curacao

My husband and I went here first week of November and it was in the 90’s. The resort overall is very beautiful from arrival all the way to the room and the restaurants. We were on the third floor Sunchi Club Level Ocean View, and it did not disappoint. We had a fully stocked mini fridge of alcohol and non alcoholic beverages. We also had a bar with few bottles of liquor. The bathroom is very nice with a walk in rain shower and a separate area for the toilet that had a slider door for privacy. We had a nice view of the ocean from the room for sunrise and sunset. My husband and I enjoyed our stay here and so glad that we went. All the food was very good at all the restaurants we went to. We rented a cabana on the beach for 4 hours the one day just to get out of the sun and had our own waitress which was nice to bring us drinks. The staff throughout the resort were very nice and accommodating to any need. Overall it was a very nice and relaxing trip!

The staff and Alana at Stand Bar are so wonderful!!! So so nice and accommodating!! We love to come to the beach and always request their service!! This side of the beach and quiet and has tons of activities. Can’t wait to come again!!!! Amanda

Just back from Curacao and wanted to share our impressions. Overall, a great resort and now our favorite of the six we’ve been to; we will return. First – we were club level, and definitely did not need a butler for anything! ‘Strand’ versus beach – we weren’t sure how we’d feel about not having a ‘proper’ beach, but the Strand was perfect! With the breakwater protecting it, its long length meant calm waters for swimming and snorkeling inside it, and plenty of room for everyone. Laying on a lounge, watching the boats go by, was delightful. Lounges – there were always plenty of lounges for everyone, all day, on the Strand. Lounges were always available till about 10 at the big pool, almost all day at the quiet one. Watersports – strong winds entering the channel plus the boat traffic made it a good idea to sail with a Sandals employee, so Shurlon ‘captained’ a Hobie cat for us and did a masterful job. Also, kayaking in the ‘Strand’ water was great. Attendants - this was our sixth Sandals, and only the second one where both pool and Strand attendants came around regularly to take our drink and food requests. Restaurants – We are usually ‘early’ diners so were able to walk in to all others but Aolos, when we went about 7:30 and had to wait about 20 minutes, but with a beverage in hand the time passed quickly. We had reservations in advance for Vincent and Butch's. Food – we’re not fussy and enjoyed everything with the exception of what was presented as a ‘croque monsieur’ from room service. It was ghastly. The food court was a real food court, not just a couple of trailers beside the walkway, like SSC. There are three trucks with wonderful choices, a full bar, and a large seating area with tarp covers for shade and protection from rain. At the Kanaal Cafe, in addition to coffee, pastries, and ice cream, they offer a selection of cheeses to provide savory snack options. Loyalty dinner – surprise! Not the usual plated meal, but a buffet mainly featuring Caribbean food, plus a prime rib station. Delicious choices and definitely an improvement over the traditional. Misha (sp?), the executive chef, said that they wanted to try that style of meal to see get guests’ feedback, and everyone at our table loved it. It might become the style at Curacao, and maybe at other Sandals. Staff – friendliest group of the six Sandals we’ve visited, bar none. Special thanks especially to Elvis, entertainer, orientation guide tour, and all-around joyous person. Look for him! Also, Joy-Ann and Colin at the dive shop. Drive – 45 minutes to/from the airport, smooth, no need for motion sickness prevention. Off-resort – a full day private tour with Christina from Discover Curacao Tours, and highly loved it. It was exactly what we wanted – snorkeling, turtles at a small, quiet beach, flamingos, hunting for sea glass, stopping to visit a church, lunch downtown, an art walk, AND plenty of time for a stop to

This is one of the best sandals if the best. The chef is by far the best in the chain of the ten other sandals we have been too. The food is much better at this resort than others. The staff as a whole is top notch. They amazing all around I want so especially mention the dive shop Darnell, Joy Ann and the whole team was fantastic. Amazing service by Noamie at Vincent, Kimberly at butch’s and all Hard working grounds keepers that make this resort beautiful. Odeth in housekeeping for all her hard work. This resort reminded us of our first stay where everything was perfect.

Beautifully well maintained resort. Plenty of staff to assist in any way and the restaurants and bars are very good. Be prepared to walk a bit as the resort is spread out - however there are bikes available for use.

No voy a reseñar lo bueno, tiene 4.4 de opiniones y 1953 reseñas, así que para lo bueno me remito a esos miles de tips.- Me voy a ocupar de lo que no me gustó, que eso es tan importante como comentar lo bueno. 1. Esto está preparado exclusivamente para turismo norteamericano (EEUU y Canadá), algunos europeos (no muchos) y nada para el resto de la humanidad.- Diría que 98 % para los primeros, 1,8 % para los segundos y 0,2 % para nosotros.- Si bien varios "tratan" de hablar español, la mayoría lo hace con mucha dificultad y siempre terminás hablando en inglés.- En mi caso no es un problema, pero mi mujer conoce 10 palabras en inglés, así que viví traduciéndole todo el tiempo. 2. Si bien tiene restaturantes (muchos y todos a la carta) de altísima calidad, luego no encontrás otro fruta que un recipiente lleno de manzanas a disposición.- Muchachos, están en el Caribe, se supone que lo que sobran son frutos de todo tipo, sabor y cantidad.- Nada de eso van a encontrar por ejemplo, si quieren comer un fruto cuando vas para la playa o las piscinas. Si querés conseguir un jugo de frutas natural y no ultraprocesado en tetrapacks, olvidate. Esperá regresar a tu casa, corré a la frutería más cercana y hacete un exprimido de naranjas reales.- 3. El hotel está en Santa Bárbara, un lugar privado a 17 kilómetros del centro.- Entonces cuando contratás un tour o un taxi, el hotel se queda con una parte del taxista, la compañía del taxista se queda con otra parte y lo que queda para el/la pobre persona que te lleva.- No permiten que contrates en forma privada y directa un transporte, directamente no pueden entrar al complejo.- Entonces, te convertís en rehén de la empresa, que garronea de todos lados en detrimento absoluto del huésped.- 4. El servicio de cuarto es un desastre, no en cuanto a que te arreglen la habitación (eso lo hacen bastante bien), hablo de algún pedido que hagas desde tu habitación al front desk para que te llevan algo.- Llamé una noche tipo 21:00, les dije que no habían repuesto el frigobar o refri como le dicen allí y pedí que por favor me llevaran 1 o 2 cervezas.- La respuesta literal fue: "Voy a ver si encuentro alguien".- De más está decir que nunca llegó nadie.- Si un hotel por el que pagás 1.000 (sí, mil) dólares la noche tiene muchos turistas debiera entenderse que la empresa debe tener la cantidad de personal proporcional a la cantidad de gente que tiene hospedada. Olvídense de eso aquí. 5. Dentro del hotel, como en todo 5 estrellas, hay un negocio de ventas.- Yo creía que me iba a encontrar con un mini shopping / mercado.- Es un desastre, no encontramos ni acondicionador para el cabello.- Realmente es algo deplorable, en otro hoteles encontrás todo lo que necesitás o querés comprar. Pues que aquí no, es demencial la poca cantidad, calidad y demás etc. que se te ocurran. Quise comprar un mero buzo, pues no tenían mi talle (M) en ninguno de los que estaban expuestos y había varios. 6. Te presionan muy mal para que hagas una "donación volu
