We were unlucky with our pre booked accommodation in Cusco (which turned out to not be great) but by a stroke of luck we found accommodation here. The staff were extremely helpful and accommodating. The food and spa were really good - especially after a hard day’s sightseeing at altitude. They also provided complimentary canapés and Pisco sour in the evening. The rooms were spacious and the grounds stunning. Can’t recommend highly enough. Thank you for a great stay.

An unexpected gem in the centre of Cusco. It was truly a most beautiful setting and our room was absolutely amazing. The staff are very helpful and friendly and the food in the restaurant was excellent. Treated myself to a spa treatment a full body massage and got an awful lot for my money. Most highly recommended if you’re planning a trip to the beautiful city of Cusco

Casa Cartagena is a hidden gem in Cusco! The rooms are spacious, beautifully decorated, and full of character. The service was top-notch — warm, attentive, and personalized. We loved the peaceful courtyard, delicious breakfast, and gourmet dinners with local flavors. A perfect mix of history and luxury. Highly recommended for a special stay in the heart of Cusco!

Casa cartagena is an elegant place. Every detail feels thoughtfully designed. The rooms are spacious and have luxurious amenities, Welcome drinks and sweets as well as a personalized note make it all that more special. There is sumptuous breakfast spread. We had amazing fruit, fresh pastries, and gourmet omelets prepared to perfection. The team goes above and beyond to ensure every need is met with efficiency. We had an odd hour train to catch (3am) from Wenchaq. Not a problem- the hotel staff arranged for their shuttle to drop us. Same with a 6am flight. They were super courteous and very accommodating. All in all, the best 3 days stay during our 17 day trip to Peru.

Exceptional service! James at front desk was warm and welcoming. Our room was well appointed and lovely extras such as a welcome card with your name, assortment of chocolates , lovely robes. The property is beautiful - eye candy. We arrived too late to enjoy the beautiful courtyard. This is luxury in very thoughtful ways and well worth the splurge. The restaurant service is personalized and very attentive. I highly recommend this boutique experience.

A boutique hotel housed in a historic building, centrally located in the tourist area of Cusco. An ideal base for exploring the city. Spacious, comfortable rooms. Good cuisine and professional service. A place well worth recommending.

Casa Cartagena is a reasonably priced top-notch accommodation option for Cusco. In the center of things, next to some of the finest hotels in town and in a beautiful colonial/inca style the place is a fantastic base for enjoying Cusco. The rooms are spacious and comfortable with good heating and the option to add oxygen to combat altitude sickness. They have a nice sauna/jacuzzi area and a lovely restaurant. We only ate breakfast there which was very well stocked compared to most other places in Peru. All in all we loved the hotel and it can be noted that they have exceptionally well-trained and attentive staff, something that is definitely not always the case in Peru.

Fantastic -
I regret having such a short stay here! After many days touring the country this place was a welcomed luxury in preparation to fly out and head back to the States. The staff were extremely friendly and the small extras they offer were fantastic. We I travel back to Cusco, I will stay here again.
