Evolution Dive and Beach Resort

Did my open water and advanced adventure courses here, would highly recommend. Great crew, my instructor was excellent, and there is are some great and varied sites to learn on.

Absolutely wonderful dive resort. Diving with the threshers sharks was an incredible experience!!The rooms are wonderful and beds comfortable. Dive staff is fabulous as well as the staff at the resort and restaurant. Food was delicious. Can’t wait to return. Highly recommend!!

We hsd such a nice time diving with the evolution team. We went to the threser dive site and it wss amazing, we felt really safe with Josh. Great master diver.

My wife and I did our rescue diver course at Evolution, and stuck around to do a few days of diving with sharks and exploring nearby islands and local dive sites. We absolutely loved our time diving with Evolution and the passion for what they do is very clear. From the management to captain, from the reception to the waiting staff, everyone was positive, professional, and welcoming. They are clear about expectations underwater, for the safety of the environment and the divers. Everyone had a very very clear passion for marine life and the local ecosystem. I loved how flexible they were at Evolution - allowing us to change dives depending on how we were feeling, and not charging us a deposit when I was was sick, instead just allowing us to change the dates of our dives as we wished. I've been sick on a diving holiday before and had to miss dives and have still been charged, so to be able to just pick new days was amazing. For our rescue diver course, our instructor Kleng (shout out to the legend!) made our practical skills fun and kept it light-hearted, giving us roles as the victims and challenges to test our fellow rescuers skills. He was super friendly throughout and did a thorough review with during surface intervals and at the end of the day. Kleng also helped me do my EFR refresher course, even after he had spent a whole day diving.Our other dive guides, Albert and Harvey, were friendly, professional, and made us feel safe in the water. I was happily surprised by the value for money of the local dives, which includes Kimud Shoal, where you'll find the thresher sharks. This and their flexibility allowed me to decide on our last day to do the shark dive again! An oatmeal and banana breakfast was included between dives at Kimud Shoal, and a big lunch (with gluten free/vegan/vegetarian options) is also included when doing a day trip to the outer islands. We didn't stay at Evolution so can't speak for the rooms, but the restaurant was amazing and, again, had gluten free options for my wife. The happy hour deals on the cocktails aren't bad either! If we were to go back to Malapascua, be it to see the threshers again or to do a divemaster internship, we would head straight back to Evolution, no questions asked!

We were ver comfortable in our simple room. I only wish it had a safe and a small fridge. We were there for the scuba diving, of course, and that staff was exceptional. Food and drinks were great, and we enjoyed happy hour!

Sadly for us, tonight is the last of our 6 night stay. Simply loved it. We chose the standard room and they are absolutely fine; spacious, comfortable and spotlessly clean. The beach front is simply heavenly; beautiful sand, the sea is crystal clear for the first 10 metres and comfortable sun loungers and parasols. The photos don’t do the bar / restaurant justice; lovely facility, great vibe, competitively priced. The food was absolutely fine without being anything special but that is the par for this yet to be commercially developed island. Breakfast was very good; choice and quality. Really well run place, right number of staff and attentive with the management visible and helpful (Nick). Highly recommend.
