SIXI•DREAMLAND OF MOONSHINE CLUB(DALI ANCIENT CITY)

Located right in Dali Old Town, it boasts an excellent location, making it incredibly convenient for exploring and getting around. The place was spotless, and the service was excellent.

As someone who usually dreads any kind of hassle, after spending 5 days in Dali and then another 3 in Lijiang (where I also stayed at their Lijiang branch), I can honestly say this hotel completely took away all my accommodation worries. It was truly a 'healing point' of my Yunnan trip, making me feel compelled to write this review. 1️⃣ They have a dedicated, partner parking lot for guests. Aside from the unavoidable 8-minute traffic getting into the old town, parking was smooth. The lot is supervised 24/7, and one of the attendants is a particularly warm-hearted uncle who always offered us blessings and kind words when we arrived and departed, which made us feel incredibly at ease. After we parked, the manager drove a tricycle to transport our luggage to our room. It's about a 7-minute walk through the old town streets to reach the hotel, and even late at night, the old town was bustling. The cool temperatures in Dali were wonderfully refreshing, and my friend and I enjoyed a relaxed, chatty walk. 2️⃣ We arrived at the hotel past 11 PM, and the courtyard was very quiet. The owner quickly checked us in and showed us to our room, telling us that fruits were complimentary and drinks were on tap, and to simply ask him if we needed anything. He even offered a goodnight drink. A short while later, he brought us warm flower cakes and hot milk. 3️⃣ There was actually a delightful scent in the room. I usually dislike perfumes, but this fragrance was surprisingly pleasant. The room's decor had a distinctive character; while bold, the black elements subtly balanced the vibrant reds. This style might not be for everyone, but then again—who wouldn't love Salvatore Ferragamo toiletries, bathwater at the perfect temperature the moment you turn on the tap, and a silky-smooth bed that feels bouncy yet firmly supports your back! My vacation truly began in THIS! VERY! ROOM!! 4️⃣ The 'Allen' room offers stunning views of Cangshan Mountain. In the early morning, as I drew back the curtains, I was absolutely captivated by the misty, ethereal beauty of Cangshan in the distance. While it wasn't the most spectacular view of the mountain I saw throughout my Dali trip, that particular instant was when I felt the most blissful. Those of us needing a temporary escape from the daily grind really crave moments like that. 5️⃣ The hotel offers a selection for breakfast. I opted for the piping hot Zhajiang rice noodles, and the Zhajiang sauce was incredibly fragrant. The black tea was also delicious, and the patterned dining table made my breakfast look perfectly 'instagrammable'. 6️⃣ As I was there for a truly relaxed vacation, I deliberately kept my daily itinerary light. One morning, I rented an overpriced, bulky four-wheeled electric vehicle (what locals call a 'bear car') at the ecological corridor and cruised along Erhai Lake for over two hours before heading straight back to the hotel for another nap. Just a heads-up: in July and August, these four-wheelers get pricey at 120 RMB an hour. For anyone who's read my ramblings this far, I'd highly recommend renting the smaller yellow electric scooters at the ecological corridor instead! 🛵 7️⃣ The hotel offers Americano or Latte. As a heavy coffee addict, I lost count of how many iced Americanos I drank during my stay. One particular iced Americano back at the hotel that day truly 'saved my coffee brain'. 8️⃣ After sleeping until 7 PM, we headed out to catch the Wamao Comedy show near the 'Bed Sheet Factory' area. For just 69 RMB, we got an hour and a half of pure joy—definitely one of the most worthwhile experiences of our Dali trip. The 'Bed Sheet Factory' area also has loads of interesting shops; I picked up a Nepali dress there and absolutely adore it! 9️⃣ We tried several Bai cuisine restaurants over these days, and none of them disappointed. The 'Courtyard Fatty Intestine Chicken' was absolutely incredible! The 'You Ke Duo Fried Squid' on Fuxing Road was also fantastic. It was a bit pricey, around 20-something RMB per serving, and a little messy to eat, but it's impossible to deny how incredibly delicious it was!! You can grab one and share it with a friend, sitting on a chair right outside the shop. 🔟 Tired from our adventures, we wound our way through the old town, past the noisy, tireless bars, strolling under the moonlight on flagstone streets polished smooth by countless footsteps. We realized Erhai Lake wasn't far. Returning to our quiet, subtly fragrant room on such a night, turning on the hot water for the bathtub, and greedily savoring a flower cake the manager had given us before bathing... well, it made this 'workhorse' (me!) tear up with emotion once again... Facilities: So new and stylish, you'll constantly be snapping photos. Cleanliness: Impeccably clean—not a single fault to be found! Ambiance: I can only sing its praises; I've been completely won over by the atmosphere. Service: The manager has an absolutely enchanting voice; just listen, and you'll be left speechless.

The guesthouse is wonderfully clean, quiet, and conveniently located. The service is excellent, with thoughtful touches like soothing sleep tea in the evenings and convenient luggage pick-up and drop-off. The made-to-order breakfast is also fresh and spotlessly clean!
