We stayed at the Spenglers Inn for 2 nights at the beginning of November, which was a good option for a time when so many hotels close for a few weeks. The hotel is practically an extension of the Hard Rock Hotel in Davos Platz. Check-in/out takes place at the Hard Rock Hotel. Then you walk through several corridors and use two different elevators to get to the Spenglers Inn area. We looked in vain for an entrance/exit from outside. The rooms are functionally furnished and a bit dated. We had been upgraded to a single room with a grand bed and balcony. So the room had a 1.20m wide bed with the long side and head end against the wall and the foot end against the wardrobe. If you book a room like this for two people, you have to bear in mind that one of you will have a hard time getting out of bed at night if he/she is lying on his/her side against the wall. Quite a large closet, safe in the closet, desk, 1 chair. Balcony with 1 deck chair (not particularly nice view as it is of other buildings and a side street), bathroom with shower, hairdryer. Fairly basic facilities. Everything is clean, but the rooms are only cleaned every 3 days. WiFi is a bit shaky. Socket at the head of the bed. Quite noisy. The breakfast included in the booking (at the Hard Rock Hotel) is definitely worth it. The breakfast buffet at the Hard Rock Hotel (see photos) is fantastic. If you don't have it included, you pay 35 CHF/person/day. Bus stop about 100m away (Schatzalpbahn). 3 stops to Davos Platz train station. About 10 minutes walk to Davos Platz train station. Small supermarket with long opening hours next to the bus stop. Conclusion: It's OK for one or two days or as a cheaper alternative to the expensive hotels in Davos. It's worth booking the offer with breakfast.
