Fern Hook Vacation Cabins are located nearby Jedidiah Smith State Park in the tiny hamlet of Hiouchi, California. Indulge yourself in a private setting of magnificent redwoods carpeted with ferns. Our sustainably constructed cabins with full kitchens will provide deluxe accommodations while you enjoy this natural wonderland. We are pet friendly, but require a 30$ per pet fee, for each reservation. We had the best stay! Super clean and cozy - perfect for a morning coffee, rainy afternoon and very close to the local attractions. Highly recommend!

Wonderful cabin in beautiful wooded setting. Lots of birds, including an owl, right outside our front door. Interior was set up nicely with no wasted space. Everything was very clean. Centrally located to visit the Redwoods Parks. One of our favorite cabins ever!

Cozy cabin nestled in the Redwoods The pictures of this vrbo do not do it justice. This property was beyond gorgeous. There were several redwoods on our property as well as giant ferns and spruce. The cabin was spotless with several thoughtful details. We will definitely stay here again next time we visit the National Park.

Cabin in the redwoods Absolutely beautiful and they have done an incredible job of building these cabins with minimal damage to the forest that surrounds them. Very peaceful. We wish we could have stayed longer.

Fern cabin It was set back in the woods but maybe 100 ft from road so at time traffic noise was a bit much. Property was very clean, sofa however was not comfortable and bed was set a bit too high. Lighting was very bright inside. Could use indirect lights. Fan lights not working and fan is very dusty. It was nice to have a kitchenette, but I think they forgot to restock coffee filters.

Cabin in the Redwoods This was our favorite stay of a 12 day trip! We originally booked it for our last 2 nights but then realized we'd be 3 hours south in the redwoods so James graciously refunded our second night stay. We all were enchanted by this beautiful property and darling cabin.

BEST stay in years! This property is almost unbelievable - from the setting, interior and exterior, one of the best (and most accurately described). There’s nothing that says Vacation in the Redwoods like the Fern Hook cabins. Down to the last details, I wouldn’t change a thing and we’ll def be back!!
