Deogarh Mahal

Beautiful palace hotel. We had room 212, nice room as in a fairy tale. Clean and very romantic. Nice bathroom with large shower. Lunch & breakfast was in the dining area and served in buffet. Good food. Diner was served outside on the roof terrace, also in buffet. Too bad there was little or no lightning, so we had to dine in the dark. There is a nice swimming pool but only few chairs to relax after swimming.

Ce palais construit il y a 5 siecles est absolument magnifique et authentique. Nous y sommes allés pour la quatrieme fois. Nous ne nous en lassons pas. Nous avons eu la chance à chaque fois d'avoir des chambres atypiques de type suite. La pemiere consistait en 3 pieces en enfilade avec une décoration digne des palais des 1000 et une nuits. La seconde fois nous avons eu droit à une suite dans laquelle nous avons invité tout notre groupe à prendre un verre, c'est dire si c'était immende, et cette fois nous avons eu une chambre décorée de peintures très anciennes avec une grande pièce de type salon et une salle de bains immense avec des céramiques au sol. La piscine est magnifique et il y a un salon de SPA. La visite des toits du palais est un labyrinthe et vaut le coup d'y aller. Tout dans ce palais nous invite à y retourner ce qu'on fera en octobre, on emmenera un groupe de 38 personnes et je me fais une joie deleur faire décoiuvrir cet endroit. Le personnel est extrèmement professionnel et sympathique. Le propriétaire habite une partie de cet immense palais. Le village de deogarh est un vaillage très agréable à visiter, de petites rues loin de l'agitation des bazars de Delhi ou de Udaipur. Un incontournable au rajasthan. Cet hotel possède également un restaurant à qqs kilometres qui se nomme le PIT STOP, le cadre lié à l'automobile est moderne et la nourriture y est bonne. Le oropriétaire du Deogarh mahal possède une collection de voiture que j'aimerais un jour visiter. Peut etre en octobre ...

This beautiful hotel is set at the end of a busy street and when you arrive you are greeted with rose petals and drums. Our room was tastefully decorated with a large balcony and great views. The staff were so helpful and couldn't do enough for us. My dietary requests were catered for and the food was delicious. In the evening we were entertained with traditional Indian dancing and music. Unfortunately we were kept awake until the early hours due to a wedding taking place next door. It's wedding season in India now this was an occurrence which we witnessed in other places.

Deogarh Mahal is a beautiful palace that has seen better days but offers a wonderful quirky experience. So much history in the palace and a wonderful guided audio can be taken with headphones and a map narrated by the author William Dalrymple We had booked the special dinner and were amazed to dine in the private suite of the Maharaja. The most beautiful and extraordinary room you will ever dine in. The rooftop terrace has amazing views and there is local dance and music every night. We were recommended to stay by our travel company Vibrant India Tours in Melbourne and so glad we took their recommendation. The rooms are all quite different. Vikram on reception was most helpful and welcoming. We had the pleasure of meeting the Maharaja after breakfast and hearing how he lived there as a young boy. We were heading to Jodphur and look the local tourist train where you get to feed the monkeys. Turned out to be both interesting and hilarious with monkeys in the train itself. Our driver met us at the end of the train ride and we continued on our tour. Glad we didn't miss this experience.

We can't describe in words how much we enjoyed being your guest for two nights. It was lovely spending a day on close by lake safari and another day the train ride through the Aravali. We thoroughly enjoyed the hospitality and generosity. The meals were delicious and served with love, we relished them. And the property is clean, cosy and inviting. The staff were courteous, especially the guide Ishwar is so cheerful and energetic, we enjoyed the safari and train ride with him. Thank you to each and every staff, management and owners of Deogarh Mahal for making our stay memorable.

The history of the building the audio tour and access to the roof made this visit different. I also loved the shop offering something different. The hotel was clean our room spacious and food excellent, the waiters provided service to be remembered I will recommend to friends and family to visit for an unforgettable stay
